I've only listened to the audibook of Beautiful Chaos and I think they leave out that epilogue Dx (time to do some shoppin' on amazon, eh?)

Oh this was so precious, I adored it so much. <3 I particularly loved the Doctor offering to have her in the anti-gravs LOL.

Also, After she dies, he falls for and marries his best friend. Just sayin’ ;-) *winks with*

Oh, you have to read the book - the audio omits the "framing" parts at the beginning and end, because the story is "timed" after Donna has been returned home, even though the events take place while she's still travelling with the Doctor.

It's well worth reading, but I defy any Donna fan NOT to cry at the end!

Glad you liked the fic though - thanks for reading.

This was lovely, and the voices rang so true. It made me think of the end of 'JE' when Ten was telling Wilf and Sylvia about Donna's awesomeness. They would never have known just how magnificent she was if he hadn't kept his word and told them about the DoctorDonna's "death".

I suppose that was sort of the point of this - or one of them. I mean, Ten would have taken Donna home anyway, whether she's asked him to or not, but that bit in the book really set me thinking and once I 'think' I have to write!

Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment - I appreciate it.

Dude. Whoa. I'm like, too dumbfounded to find enough praise for this.

I don’t like what happened to her any more than you do, but she helped us to save thousands of people; men, women, children - all of them owe their lives to her … and they’ll never know.”

Bawww! :(

But the whole thing is so sweet and lovely--apart from the sad bits, obviously. I really like the idea of him reading to her.

And I only mention it because I know you're careful with grammar:
so that she can lay down with her head on the cushion.
...shouldn't that be 'lie' instead of 'lay'?

(Also, I'm actually in the middle of Great Expectations at the moment, but now I wish I'd read David Copperfield! I'll have to read it at some point.)

You're also not alone in having cried at that letter at the end of Beautiful Chaos.

Gorgeous work, here.

Considering I'm pretty 'meh' about this fic and got to the point where I thought "sod it, I can't fix it up any more, I'll just post the damn thing and have done with it!" - I'm pleased it seems to have turned out better than I thought! (And it's not that I'm 'meh' about the premise, I'm 'meh' about my writing of it.)

Great Exectations is my other all-time-Dickens-favourite novel :-)

(You're probably right on the grammar - that's one that always gets me - I'll check it, ta!)

If you can, be sure to get a copy of CT reading The Forever Trap. She does a great Ten, getting all of DT's mannerisms spot on! In fact, that's half the fun of listening!

Beautiful Chaos is a must for Donna fans. Wilf and Sylvia are superbly characterised, too. You don't need to read the DW books in order really, so you don't have to wait until you've read all the others to read this one!.

Glad you enjoyed the fic.
