This was incredibly touching. I'm not sure if I've ever told you this before, but you are a fantastic author.

Also, 'Beautiful Chaos' is one of my favorite Doctor Who novels and I love the letter that Donna writes back to Sylvia.

Again, just amazing!

Thank you very much on both counts. I'm blushing ;-)

Reading the letter and that epilogue is one of the few times a book has made me cry - it's painful, but so beautifully done.

.You already know I love this - but I'm saying it again! You have a knack for Ten/Donna dialogue.

I do - but that doesn't mean you can't tell me again :)

Thanks for being my sounding board,

I really liked "Beautiful Chaos." I had a few quibbles with it, but I adore the story and how seamlessly it fits in with RTD's canon. And I adore how you took that one line from the book and spun it out into this fic. It would be a hard conversation for both of them, and it rings so beautifully true and honest.

And *gigglesnort* at your A/N 3. :-D

Yeah, I know what you mean about the book, but the overall writing, plus the excellent characterisation of Wilf and especially Sylvia goes a long way towards blotting those out in my book. I actually wrote a "foreward" to this (which is something I don't normally do - I think a fic should stand on its own two feet and not need loads of explanation so I didn't post it) - in which I explained that while I can see them having the conversation, I didn't think it'd be some long, drawn out discussion of every companion the Doctor's ever had. For one thing, that's not a fic, that's an essay, and for another, the Doctor's a bloke! Blokes don't do stuff like that, regardless of how old or how dazzling they are! I was hoping that what would come across was my theory that they 'get' each other on an instinctual level that neither of them has really experienced before... which makes it bloody hard when you've got to write what they don't say ( ... )

You made me tear up as I read this [thinking of the Beautiful Chaos letter in hindsight did that]

Excellent fic, love.

I was in a public library with my kids the first time I read it - meep! That whole section is just so beautiful, from the conversation between Sylvia and Wilf to the letter, to the ending with Wilf hoping to see the Doctor again... it always makes me tear up.

Thanks for reading - I'm pleased you enjoyed the fic.
