The wife and I drove down to Durham, NC yesterday to see relatives and I'm sure it was via the Twilight Zone ( Read more... )

Ah, the Great Dismal Swamp fire, we had haze all the way up here too from it! Hope you got to treat yourself to some great BBQ while you were down there!

OH, hadn't heard about that. It's nice to hear from you. Are you still drawing? Haven't seen anything recently.

I've only been to Jersey once or twice, but I remember the trip being stressful. Of course, that could be because we were trying to get to a very fancy wedding in north Jersey (i.e., the suburb-of-New-York part).

I won't say too much more since maybe someone hasn't seen it yet, although I doubt that.
I haven't, but since I haven't really made the effort, I can't complain. I am so bad about going to movies when I don't have people nudging me to go with them, and the fact that I haven't gone by myself would indicate that what I really like about the HP movies is going with my friends.

We were in the same general area, the Amboys.

I hope you found some friends who finally made you go to DH with them.

You were in Durham? I live about 40 minutes from there :D I'm not surprised you went through a really deserted patch on your route. NC is mostly agricultural, and there isn't usually any traffic (even on the highways really) unless you're driving between the hours of 5-7.

Actually we were in Butner. Which college do you attend?

I go to Appalachian State University in the blue ridge mountains. It's only about 3-4 hours away from central NC.

I've never actually contemplated NC and The Twilight Zone in the same thought, but I suppose I could imagine it now that you've brought it up. I live about 90 minutes sort of Southeast of Durham and I distinctly recall coming home from work really llate one night (around midnight...roughly a 40 minute commute) and finding the stretch of Highway 11 that I travel completely and utterly desserted. There was not a car moving anywhere, and being the late hour that it was, all the businesses were dark. Rather spooky actually.
