I had a rant involving 'Lines in the Sand' (yeah, I know, but it's relevant to something, honestly), and I wanted to talk about the House spoilers in more detail, but I'll save it for later, because I just saw Hairspray.

Have you seen this yet?! What can I say? I haven't seen the original Waters film (shame on me), and nor have I seen the stage show ( Read more... )

I loved the scene where he was dancing with Christopher. It was so beautiful I almost saw "awww" audibly.

I agree, once you start to actually see him as a woman, rather than "OMGZ Travolta in fatdrag", his performance fits in perfectly with the tone of the film, and is funny and touching.

I'd watch it again.

Let's face it, every time John Travolta dances in a movie, it makes pop-culture history.

And considering the part was played by Divine and Harvey Fierstein, how could it not be a little creepy?

Anyway, dying to hear you Lines In The Sand rant. (Die Stalker!Chick, Die!)

So true! It's like Ellen said: every ten years or so he comes around to being hot again. Although in this context, when I say 'hot', I mean awesome, rather than fuckable.

The rant has turned into a huge long meta ramble in my head. I'll post it later, because I need to get it out before it takes over my entire brain like a Yeerk.

I don't know whether this role is his way of coming out without actually coming out. I don't even know whether he was in in the first place.

Wait, what? Isn't John Travolta married with a couple of kids?

Ooh, did you miss the whole big Travolta-gay-kiss-photos thing? He was snapped kissing a guy on the lips, and there was a whole big discussion about whether it was platonic or not. But yes, he is married with two kids, so he's either bi, hetero or living a complete lie.
