You know this is good...TY:) I couldn't read FF for a long time; I felt it was a sacrilege to the boys and demeaning to Annie Proulx's work. Of course I am reading some FF now--mostly AU fics, and it does help, somewhat, to imagine them alive and together.

I felt exactly the same way you did about fan-fic in the beginning. Now I love it.

Petietmiel, I am loving, loving, loving this story.

Jack took a step closer his hand reaching out to touch Ennis’ cheek and the other man looked up leaning into the touch as he closed his eyes. A second later though he pulled back shaking his head before turning away.

“I’m sorry.”

“Ennis, if ya don’t wantta be my friend…well...I just want ya to know I’m always gonna be yours. Always.”

Aw, this was so sweet, poor Jack :( Poor Ennis :( I can't wait to find out how you'll have Ennis come around. I'm worried about Barnes :(

I thought this was quite hot:

Then he reached down spreading his legs, rolling his balls against his palm, squeezing gently before reaching up to stroke himself again.

Thanks so much for updating, looking forward to more, as always :)

when I first started reading this I thought "Uh-oh-difficult period in time for J & E; how will they overcome an even less tolerant era then canon?" but I also realized that this would probably take a longer story so I think that's great. Anyway, looking forward to seeing how you resolve this. No rushing required!

Hey Junie..we are back in the same area for once in a very long time. Its nice to see you again...
Petite, I love this story, it is destined to be one of my very favorites of all..I think it is so wonderful the way you are bringing this story along.
You are giving them real fears, not some unreasonable paranoia. In those days in particular, im sure that even though that homosexuality was as prevalant as these days,, mores and acceptance was probably much more difficult to deal with.
The only saving grace i can see, is the fact that there are lots less people in the area they are living...Still,,they need to be very very careful.
thanks for this great story; janice

Awww, that is so sweet thank you very much. I am really touched by this. I just hope the story can live up to it.

I agree they definitely had to be careful back then and the fact that there are less people around is a plus. I don't know that E/J will always be as careful as they should be though in fact I can promise you they won't as sometimes your feelings get the better of you and you do foolish/risky things but hey that's have the fun.:)

Those first several paragraphs describing the scene and the action - awesome. You enabled me to picture it all so clearly that I wasn't reading anymore - I was actually "there." You have a great understanding of the complexities of the characters - and I appreciate that you don't try to oversimplify the situation. What a gift you have - thanks for sharing it. This is a must-read, imo.
