Ooh, How Disrespectful of You!

There's this guy, Rener Gracie.
This post isn’t about him; it's a rant about all the complaints on how women are treated as sex objects when men comment on their looks ( http://joreth.livejournal.com/97329.html), or how women who want men to appreciate their bodies have nothing better to offer (http://cafe.themarker.com/view.php?t=44957 - in Hebrew ( Read more... )

You do know what the conclusion here is? anonymous March 25 2009, 08:47:01 UTC
All sex related issues and problems, are cause of women! cause they are the hypocrites and they are the only ones to blame, as much as I am sure they would love to blame society on this.

Women present themselves as some sort of pure creatures which have no lust and no desire. Just cold hearts bitches, yet in the behind the scenes, they are just as hot and even hotter.

Lets face it, women are two-faced. They say one thing, but they do a compeletly different thing. They blame guys and call them sexist for the exact same thing they do themselves!

Well, first thing: don't over generalize! The most important thing (TM :-)) to understand about women is: women are different. I don't mean different from men -- I mean different among themselves. Some men are indeed sexist assholes. And so are some women. Some men are two-faced double-standard hypocrites. And so are some women.

Frankly, saying things like "All sex related issues and problems, are cause of women" is extremely likely to get you... um... incorrectly labeled by most people (and I'm assuming good faith here). So, unless you REALLY mean EXACTLY that, Sefy -- I'd respectfully ask you to knock it off :-)

"Women present themselves as some sort of pure creatures which have no lust and no desire..."
Some do, some don't. Most of the women I personally know -- don't. More importantly, the women in the thread that inspired this post don't do that -- joreth in particular doesn't. By the way, joreth (same user on OKC) is a woman I have HUGE respect for. She's not two-faced at all -- and this actually was the thing that saddened me the most ( ... )

I Always go by "generalizing" cause it's unfortunatly the majority that rules, as you said yourself it is the "universal standard" ;-)

And since nither of us knows every single human on the planet, and when we say something, we will always get the person who will pop up and say "hey, i don't do that, stop generalizing!" it's ridicules :P

If i find a girl attractive, i tell her so, sure i won't say "wow you got a nice pair of hooters" as i don't want my head ripped off! but i don't have a problem saying so, it's not a "come on line" but something i think is just the truth.

The thing is: suppose you say the generalization "Blacks are criminals". I don't think you'd say it's "ridiculous" to call such a line extremely offensive... But why is it offensive? Some blacks are indeed criminals -- as some whites. Moreover, in many areas of US, the percentage of criminals among blacks is much higher than among white...
The reason this line is offensive is twofold: firstly, it makes a wrong generalization, and secondly, it implies causation from correlation. The fact that there is more crime among the black population than the white has nothing to do with skin color -- but this line implies the opposite! It implies that it's the "blacks" who are bad ( ... )
