I think you'll be surprised how much is the same between the two languages. If you understood the structure of spanish well, then you should have little problems understanding the structure of French. The only issue you might have is mixing up the vocabulary :)

Take it from someone who's taken both.

Yeah, I know I'll get the structure. That's exactly the worst part of Spanish for me, though, so I'll be horribly lost.

But, it's all good. It will be nice to know a little bit of this, a little bit of that. I plan on taking German in highschool, anyways, so these will just be nice supplements.

and i agree with ari, the vocab switching might be an issue or you'll just look a lot smarter than everyone else because you know it all already *nodnods*

But, there are a lot of similarities between French and Spanish... so I've heard. You know what's weird? I'm taking Spanish for the first time this year (10th grade, eek), and I know NOTHING about it :P We're sort of in the same boat.
