May was stable, but Peter was still a bit freaked out. He did take the time to change into less messed up clothes, though, so he didn't smell as bad.

"Yeah. The, uh, girl me was a big help with that," Peter said. "She ran off as soon as we knocked Octavius out, but she said that we had a lot to talk about. That should be interesting."

"But with the whole crazy thing, I feel kind of sorry for them. If being clones with bizarre physical deformities wasn't enough, Octavius had a psychic mess with their minds. They never had a chance."

Peter had no clue Zero was including Jessica in her assessment.

Zero totally had been including Jessica in her assessment. "Yeh," she grumbled, "well, just don't listen to everything she says. Also being crazy is no excuse for kidnapping you and tryin' to beat us up. And shooting Dave." Zero had found a bullet hole in the van's side panel after the encounter in Jersey, and she was still less than thrilled about it. "Except that was prolly the CIA squallers as they had the guns."
