Part of the reason I don't keep a beard is that my facial hair is ridiculously uncooperative. It grows out in all different direction and is too sparse to actually look good. The fact that it's now growing out almost all white is a charming bonus. :)

I can relate to a lot of what you mention here. (I cut my hair nearly that short about a decade ago.) But, dude, it looks AWESOME! I agree with miintikwa about the facial hair, though! :-)

Very good choice. It may have been part of who you are, but sometimes things just need to be purged. And if it was in such bad shape you couldn't untangle it, it needed to go.

And baby it is just hair! Taking it away doesn't diminish you at all. You're still the same person.

I like the short cut honestly. There's a time when a man's hair slips so far down the back of his head, that it just needs to go. You look younger and healthier for it.

There's a way to do it.
Get it super close to the scalp. Then exfoliate the fuck out of it with an exfoliating cloth or bath mitt in the shower.
Then razor.
