Yeah, that's kind of what my gut's telling me. Cohabiting was his idea, and while I wouldn't mind sharing space I'm going to have to change course a bit. We've had smooth sailing for around two years now; I don't anticipate the relationship exploding, but no one really does in that sort of situation. At least with an apartment we'd be free to settle the bills and walk away without worrying about a joint mortgage. I'd gladly put off home ownership for another year or two for the sake of my peace of mind and credit score.

On a brighter note, his mother has no objections except that we shouldn't live in my hometown, because it's seedy and full of crime. My father says he knows a guy who can get us a great deal on a place in the trailer park by the prison. I love both our families. <3
