Ah... The director and producer were talking about the scene on the commentary and said something about it that gave me the impression it really was Michael, but since they didn't actually name him, I wasn't entirely sure.
I don't think I've ever seen this film, but you make it sound worth a watch. I like the concentration he puts into playing the oboe in that picture - even if he's only acting, he's doing a very good job of it.
I started writing my first 100 things post on Sunday, but it turned into a lengthy and very wordy essay about not much. So I need to rethink it, I think. ;)
Oops! Still, it's allowed to be a wordy essay about not much if that's what you want to write!
It's a lovely film - very gently paced - about the post-WW1 struggles of four women to come to terms with their lives. Jim Broadbent and Alfred Molina play the two husbands (to Miranda Richardson and Josie Lawrence's characters respectively).
If nothing else, it's gorgeous to look at after all the bloody rain we keep having!
Aw, it sounds a good film - and you certainly make him sound a v sweet character, too. (Can't imagine what you were doing watching a film with Michael Kitchen in!! ;-p)
I'm sorry you were so tired - hope you're a bit less so now? I thought you'd been a little quiet over the weekend. *hugs*
It's a lovely movie - highly recommend it. Lacking in violence or despair - and having lots of sunshine plus lovely ensemble cast. And yeah, Michael Kitchen - who'd have thunk?!
Well Sunday I lost sleep to the freaking thunderstorm rampaging above my head. But I slept better last night - if I hadn't just come from 4.5 hours of work, I'd consider myself not too tired.
(BTW You appear to have missed post 2 in this series - at least insofar as you didn't comment on it last week!)
I really need some more MK iconses! Why isn't anyone making them?!
Yes, sorry. I kept getting overtired last week and while I tried to catch up with most things, I'm sure I missed a few here and there. It was Sam, though, wasn't it? And I already know enough to know I like the sound of her, but, sadly, I still haven't actually met her yet. :-/ I shall be awaiting the next one, standing to attention!!! ;-p
Because they are all making David Collings iconses? (No, wait. They aren't. Hmm. Don't what the excuse is, then... ;-D)
BTW, has Fall of Eagles not turned up yet? That's a little worrying, but hopefully just the post being random, as it sometimes is... (Thank goodness I ripped David Collings before I posted it!!)
Well my boss decided to torture me yesterday - made me use the Rug Doctor carpet cleaning machine for an hour. Beastly thing weighs about 4 times as much as a heavy hoover and is horribly hard to manoeuvre - my knee is still throbbing today, so I'm hoping the week will improve - but not exactly holding my breath on that score!
Yes it was Sam - who is perfectly lovely!
Nope, they're not making DC iconses AFAIK!
No it hasn't - sorry, I meant to drop you a line yesterday to say "Still no sign..." I am very annoyed!
