She was the same age as mum - who has successfully survived both breast cancer and a brain tumour in the last 10 years, which just goes to show how cruel the universe really is.
I know, right? Somebody linked me to it on Facebook, and I immediately thought, "Wow, this is a terribly tasteless joke," because I KNEW it wasn't true. And yet ...
I found out right in the middle of my work day, too. With two news stories left to write for the website. Six hours later, I finished my stories, did my last interview of the day, came home and spontaneously burst into tears.
I thought it was some sick net joke, too. As you say, it seems even more wrong when she's (in my case) only a couple of years older than my parents, the same ages as my aunts and uncles, or younger.
What is it with this year? I think I may go away and Google all famous people I really, really like obsessively just in case...
She's my mum's age. How come mum survived breast cancer and a brain tumour yet Lis couldn't? (Not that I want my mum dead instead, I just wish Lis had also survived!)
