I think he is a bit insane...

Well, he did always say that this was a bad regeneration or that it somehow went wrong ( ... )

Actually I blame Rose very squarely for the not-regeneration. She should've been bloody ashamed herself for insisting he not change, when she'd already seen him do it once, and liked the new one better!

ETA: And apparently is prone to massive typos as well!

*giggles* Don't think I and my inbox didn't notice that! :P

LOL

I apologize to both you and your inbox for my mid-morning antics. :D

I can see blaming Rose for the Regeneration that wasn't, and to some extent I do, but Ten is over a 1000 years old. He clearly should know better by now than to jeopardize his health over the whims of the runaway blonde. I think he's just as vain as she was selfish; the ladies certainly did seem to rather enjoy that incarnation and I think he wanted to keep it that way.

He should have taken a page from Captain Jack and understood that the universe will still find him dishy whether he's a skinny streak of alien nothing or a bit floppy on the ear-front. ;-)

*grins* I forgive you!

I agree Ten's pretty vain, but I suspect if Rose had kept quiet (or better yet, not been there!), he'd have gone ahead and regenerated without thinking about it...

Its all her fault then. I wonder if she would have tried to reign him in if she had been with him...meh. The only ones capable of doing that are Donna and Martha.

Rose would've been egging him on in some way...

Yeah - she would do exactly that...

Yeah but he doesn't have that vortex stuff in him now? I thought he let it go before he regenerated? I'd have to watch it again.

But power-mad!Doctor has happened before--like zurcherart reminded me in the serial where the Doctor's got the completed Key to Time and Seven frequently pushes the line.

I do find it interesting that both the Doctor and Brax go off the deep end the same way--bend or break the Laws of Time by trying to make things better.

But he had it in him as he regenerated - that's bound to have coloured his thinking/shaped him as a man/Time Lord...

Oh I know Four and Seven were both on the edge, but Ten's much worse than either of them...

That's true - guess it really does run in the family!

Ten's also been through a hell of a lot, though. I mean, it took being a refugee from Dellah, an invasion where he was tortured, and the threat of another invasion for Brax to break. So it's a bit understandable that the Doctor would break with his own crap he's had to deal with.

Yes he has been through a lot, but I do think there was some residual Vortex power in his head that's affected him throughout this incarnation.
