(thank goodness RTD has never made Ten utter it, though!)

LOL! Yes, coming from Ten, that would have been too much!

Yikes! Sarah Jane's been trapped inside a giant test tube thingy.

Hee! This has always been my favorite bit of the episode. I guess I like seeing Four fuss over Sarah Jane, which makes me a bad feminist, but the Fourth Doctor so rarely fusses over anyone ;-)

It doesn't make you a bad feminist to want to see SJS given a bit of fuss and attention.

I kind of liked his "walking in eternity" line. We so rarely get a viewpoint on what it is to be a Time Lord. (Which is also why I liked that line in "Fires of Pompeii.")

I did like Ten's lines in Fires of Pompeii, but here Four sounded a bit more pompous.

- Watch out, the generic poacher is about...

And he's got a cage of "vicious" ferrets, who have all died of starvation because everyone who might know about them are now dead... sorry, my ferret ownership shining through.... and I keep telling myself that people definately view the beasties differently in the UK than in America, so am not insulted that Sarah automatically yanks her hand out of the cage when the Doctor warns her there might be ferrets in there... besides, doesn't she know better than to stick her hand into something she knows nothing about?

- The Doctor's going to disguise himself as a mummy robot? Oh joy!He managed to undress out of that costume fairly quickly, though, didn't he ( ... )

And when the Doctor and Sarah rushed back to the house to prevent Sutekh from arriving and he made the comment about having only 2 minutes because that's the time it takes radio signals to reach Earth from Mars? I sitting there saying, "Um, TIME MACHINE?

Good point, but I always just assumed that he couldn't use the TARDIS to give himself more time, just like he couldn't use it to go back and stop Scarman from entering Sutekh's tomb in the first place. I think that if the Doctor wasn't there in 2 minutes then Sutekh would be free, and then he wouldn't be able to go back in time and make Sutekh not free anymore. (On the other hand, if the writers had decided to go the other way and have the Doctor travel back in time to stop Sutekh, I would have found a way to justify that, too . . . )

Apparently she doesn't know better than to stick her hands into things she knows nothing about! Personally I thought yanking her hand out was sensible - after all, her hand is an alien object invading an animal's territory. Serve her right if it did bite!

He managed to undress out of that costume fairly quickly, though, didn't he?

Ah well, that's his 'transmigration of objects' 'superpower' at work again (see the start of The Ambassadors of Death where Three first demonstrates this facility!)

Back to the poacher, but am I ( ... )

Yes, the Doctor's "I walk in eternity" line is a little pompous, but the Doctor has always gotten pompous from time to time, and I love Sarah's teasing reaction.

Windows of the priory -- my favorite part there is when the Doctor suddenly ducks after the windows start looking out from a new room.

Sarah Jane knowing how to shoot -- IIRC, Lis Sladen objected to that because she didn't think it made sense that the character would know how to shoot, but the director insisted because she thought it reinforced how capable Sarah was.

Riddle of Osiris -- it always seems to me that Tom Baker got his line wrong there, because it doesn't make sense that he says "if I asked you the question" -- he should say what the question is. But I too like him fussing over Sarah in that scene. She fusses over him earlier, so I figure it's even.

And I agree, part 4 is weaker than the other parts, but it still has some great moments and I love how the Doctor defeats Sutekh in the end.

Yes!!

That amused me too!

Ah! I just thought it was pretty weird because firearms and the use thereof is an uncommon thing in the UK...

I know, I thought that was slightly odd too...

- I laughed at the Doctor and Sarah climbing in and out of the windows of the Priory.

Same here. :)

Poor Laurence. Though I could understand how someone could hope that some bit of the person they knew survived...

I enjoyed this episode a lot. I just love Sarah Jane and Four together. Seeing how she was able to handle herself even when the Doctor isn't around made me think 'this is what companions should do!'

It did get a bit silly in the end, but it was good fun.

I also wondered about the shooting thing. But I guess SJS knows that a good investigative reporter needs to be prepared for all situations while in the field. XD

I could too, but it would've been better had he just accepted it...

Er yeah, if it was a *foreign* field she was going to be in! (In my head, Harry Sullivan took her down to the UNIT firing range and taught her to shoot during a long afternoon...)
