About time our Marfa got a good ending! It was the only one I could possibly spazz about. The ending with Rose was just...I don't know I wasn't really feeling it. And Donna ::lip trembles::.

I'm going to be starting a new Martha video for LoM later today and this is all just getting me in the mood :D

Rose's ending was weird... Even a week later, I can't figure out how anyone could see it as good.

Woot! Is that for the Who Prom-related thing??

While I'm not a Rose/Ten fan, I did feel bad for all of the people out there who DO ship them. I would feel cheated with an ending like that personally...I still do actually! o.O

Yup! That I realllllllllllllly wish I could go to! :( Aren't you going?

I would feel cheated too, if I was a Ten/Rose shipper, but apparently no one else does!

I most squeefully am!! (terrible grammar, but who cares?!)

My take on Rose ending up with humanTen! is that Rose's strong point was that she challenged some of the Doctor's decisions, (S1 after that it was lovesick puppy love ) and helped make him more "human", so she get's to be that person again wether she likes it or not, and it will help her grow up! They both needed something, HumanTen! a bit of a balence bet making a decision to kill, and when not to, he needed healing, and Rose neeeded love from him but TimeLordTen! can't give that, but HT! can. She got something from him ( ... )

Well we had a companion who wasn't afraid to tell Ten where to get off - but then RTD totally ruined her...

Consisting Martha always gets the short end of the slick I'm very happy with her ending. She choose to leave the Doctor again, with a smile on her face and friend(s) at her side. I wish the ohters had had not so horrible endings but I'm very glad after all the crap she gone through they left her (mostly) alone. I mean her last time on board the TARDIS she ended up walking alone, watching her companion die and took a huge emotional beating. She always get kicked on the teeth on Doctor Who so I'm happy she was left alone.

I don't think RTD likes Martha better (that thought has never entered my mind at any point of Martha's time on the show. I think he's is because he can't touch her or mess her up too badly because she going to Torchwood.

I've never believed RTD likes Martha that much, because he's never done anything to show me he does. With him it's All About Rose!

I'm SO glad Martha got to walk away - and that she walked away with an old friend - Jack - and a potential new friend - Mickey - was even better... She was in the best place for her...

He never done a thing to show me he does either. It's always been Rose for him. He only created Martha because he couldn't keep Rose (Billie around). It's pretty apparent when two series after she gone he's still bring her up and having her over shadowing the new companions. *shakes head*

I really was the best place For Martha and much to my delight no meaning of running off to check on her beloved husband to be.

I know. I feel bad for Donna, that so much of her season was about other companions (much as I love Martha!)

The fact that she walked off hand-in-hand with Jack made me ridiculously happy!

My major issue was how easily Martha was willing to give up the key when the Doctor told her to. "Consider it done." Man... what I would have given for a Martha smirk there just for that "uh huh, sure" moment. But alas... back to the ultimate pacifist society.

Do you mean the Osterhagen Key?

Yeah - when he dropped Martha and Jack off and told them never to do it. I understand from the Doctor's perspective since he himself wiped out his own race to end a war, but until they explain whether he believes he made the right decision or not, I get tired of the pacifist attitude.

More relevantly, I feel, the Doctor wiped out his own planet to end the war with the Daleks and to destroy them, but it *didn't* work! Hence it makes sense for him to tell them never to do it, because he's demonstrated that it wasn't the best thing to do. And I would say that his comments about the Daleks in the S3 two-parter make it fairly clear that he doesn't think it was the right decision. Whether he thought it was at the time, though, is an entirely different matter.

It's funny, a year later, to think that Martha actually got the best/happiest ending of the three new Who companions. She got to choose what to do - and chose to walk away from the Doctor (again), whereas Rose got dumped with Alt!Ten in Pete's World and told to "fix him", and Donna got mindwiped against her will...

You and me both.

Not that I see this as an indication that Russell T Davies likes Martha any better than the other two. I suspect he left her story open-ended like that in case the PTB wanted to bring her back into Torchwood (which is something a lot of people are assuming will happen), just as he apparently brought Jenny back to life at Moffat's request.

I think it is very obvious who RTD REALLY likes no matter what he says. Still, it will be nice her character again whenever.

I think that's main reason I disliked Rose so much. The writers (mainly RTD) threw it into our face so much that is just felt like overkill. Forget that, it was overkill. It's one of the reasons I can't watch series 3 again. That and the Doctor is an asshole.

Who could have imagined that one year later, we would be looking at Martha and thinking, "Damn! I guess she did get best ending after all!" Who knew?
