As the camera rolls, a seed in her hand starts blooming, but then it cycles through the entire life of the plant in five seconds.

Svetlana cursed the Barge. I don't know if you know her. I didn't. But she's cursed the Barge, and magical people seem to be getting it worse than others. Runs of bad luck, magic not working. That's what happened to your poor plants.
