Fictional Earls

So I finished the movie, Waitress, today, and it's just the right mix of chick flick and Southern-fried corniness, bittersweet and funny. It never becomes too melodramatic or inappropriately funny, which I really liked. Actor Jeremy Sisto plays Earl, the controlling, abusive and realistically vulnerable husband of the main character

What about the show "My Name is Earl"? That attempts to redeem the name.

I thought about that, too. He still fits the redneck stereotype, somewhat.
