Wonderful. I love the special relationship that Ikkaku has with Zaraki, and I think it's not explored nearly enough.

I think it's because Renji seems to legitimately be intimidated by Byakuya while respecting him at the same time. Wheras, Ikkaku isn't intimidated by Zaraki because he doesn't fear death, buth you can tell even still, this is a man who he greatly, greatly admires. It comes off as more straightforward than Renji, I think. XD

Gah! Perfect! I love the idea that Ikkaku goes against Zaraki in a sparring match each birthday. It's just so fitting.
