Wonderful. I love the special relationship that Ikkaku has with Zaraki, and I think it's not explored nearly enough.

I think it's because Renji seems to legitimately be intimidated by Byakuya while respecting him at the same time. Wheras, Ikkaku isn't intimidated by Zaraki because he doesn't fear death, buth you can tell even still, this is a man who he greatly, greatly admires. It comes off as more straightforward than Renji, I think. XD

Aww~ yeah. XD <3 Renji seems to skulk in the shadows created by Byakuya's blinding brilliance more than, uh... well. :D; Ikkaku's head kind of is a lighthouse, so. <-no, making no sense.
