^^; Shini's always a little scared to click on fics about Mayuri, because he gets raped every which way in fandom. ^^; But...

Oh my god... *_* You've got him. <3 <3 ^^ And you made Shini's Mayuri fangirl heart all squishy and happy. |D

You shouldn't be so hard on yourself.

I thought it was fine.

It was interesting seeing Mayuri's perspective on hiw feelings for Nemu.

The only problem I had was that it kinda felt a little repetitive.

But honestly, don't take my word for much. I've been trying to write fic for months and can't get my barings straight.

But keep at it! Your goal was to start writing with characters you weren't fond of anyways, right?

I think I was going for Mayu trying to convince himself as he was saying it too? I dunno. o.o His voice is weird in my head.

Wow. I'd never have thought of that particular take on things, but it works. It really works. What's interesting is that there are so many possible layers to his denial: is there actual affection that he's trying to bury, or is he simply trying to rationalize his behavior to some degree. Fascinating stuff.

Mayuri and nemu's relationship is, in my opinion, one of the most difficult in the fandom to grasp. Because they get so little actual time in manga, we have to delve into them with little reference. Kubo-sensei manages to pack a lot into very little, but it still leaves us wondering.

I liked this. A lot. Like Shini, I'm always hesitant to read anything with Mayu or Nemu because so many people write them in a way that, in my mind at least, doesn't coincide with who they are. But I think you did a great job examining his thinking on this subject--one Shini and I have talked about to an extent and one we both agree is more complicated than almost everyone assumes. And you captured that here--showing that, for all his trying, Mayuri is still human, and still feels, and this is something he struggles to hide. I love your reasoning on this. It's one of those "Damn, wish I'd thought of it," things.

Yay! Your guys' approval makes me happy since I consider you the Mayu and Nemu experts. o.o Anyway, it was incredibly hard to write, but I feel better for doing it. ^^;;
