I really like your writing. I think that you've caught Doumeki's personality and characterization perfectly in this piece. It flows nicely and your Yuuko is just... God. She's perfect.

Yuuko is actually one of the harder charries for me to write, I think. Probably because it would be easy for her just to be simplified into a fast-talking wino (which I sometimes tend to do). I'm relieved to hear I can write her believably from time to time.

um, Yuuko's "hitsuzen" usually is being translated as "inevitable" not "fate". though I can't say much on this topic, cos it's not my mother-language

It may just be me, but in English I feel like what one's fate is and what one's inevitability is can be interchangeable? It's just a matter of word choice.

I've read a lot on the hitsuzen question. The word in Japanese for destiny is unmei, and CLAMP never uses that -- it's always hitsuzen. I think you can use fate, especially since you relate it so much to abstract qualities like balance -- things that the universe requires, I guess -- rather than some teleological prophecy pushing for a happy ending.
