Damian Wayne studied a tattered Robin costume, carefully preserved in a trophy case. “Grayson? Why does my father keep this rag on display like this?”
“As a reminder,” Dick answered, not looking up from his work.
“Of what? Failure?” he snapped.
“Yes.” Dick turned around. “To remind us the consequences of failure. To remind himself to choose and train apprentices with the utmost caution.” He eyed the remnants of Jason Todd’s suit. “To punish himself for letting it happen, getting there a few minutes too late.”
Damian frowned. “That sounds…masochistic.”
“Yes.” Dick smiled. “You grow wise in our ways, Grasshopper.”
