a/n: just a quick reaction to s11 ep09, "Wild Life."
“…so that’s the story,” Sara finished, and shifted the phone to her other ear. “Y’know, I love animals? I do. But something like this? Makes me wonder if I understand them at all.”
Grissom’s transatlantic voice was tinny. “Ahh. Age-old trap. However domesticated our companions are, at heart they’re still wild animals, and under stress they will revert.”
“You love animals, but you also respect them. You’d never treat them like children, or pretend the cat and bird love each other because you love both. You let them be what they are.”
Sara smiled. “Learned it all from my husband.”
