Soooo. I finished The Dark is Rising sequence.

And I thought that it had the crappiest crap ending in the world. What the hell was that? They forgot? You can't make them forget everything that happened in all the five books!!!! NO. N. O. It is NOT ALLOWED.

ARGH.

I would say The Grey King is the "general favorite," with either TDR or Greenwitch second. Your reaction to the end mirrors pretty much everyone's. At least half the fics out there dealing with memory recovery.

There does tend to be a very strong Bran/Will lobby in the fandom, with a minor schizism for the Jane fans.

If you an idea of some of the good stuff.

Also, if you like drabbles, darkisrising100 has a lot of high quality stuff.

I got around to browsing through your DiR fics and really loved the driving one you wrote with Will and Bran. Make me snicker and grin gleefully.

Thanks for the recs! I was browsing through ff.net and just did not like half of what I saw. Though, I was still freshly pissed over the end then and when I'm angry, my standards get scarily high and tolerance level scarily low. I'll definitely look into darkisrising100

<3 FF.net is not the place to start - DiR is a hard fandom to find... the LJ comm leads to most of the good writers. Rhymer and Gramarye are my favorites.

I've never been able to write a long one, sadly. The characters just don't speak to me that much, although I adore both Bran and Will.

Hi, I stumbled upon your blog while reading Libba Bray's comments.. This this is my favorite book series, I felt I should comment. I agree with you about the ending. I'm irritated to no end everytime I read the part when Merriman takes their memories away! Poor Will!

I will always hold the Grey King near and dear to my heart. I do like the Jane stoyline in Greenwhich, though.

Bran is my all time favorite characer. For a while there, I really didn't like Jane. As I've gotten older, though, her character has grown on me. She's now right up there with Bran.

So, there ya go; the thoughs of a total stranger on LJ. (Who thinks your Icon rocks)

Everytime I think about the ending, I get so angry. WHAT WAS THAT??? I don't think such a great series deserved that kind of horrible conclusion.

I do like The Grey King a lot; it's probably only second to Greenwitch. But the Jane storyline, it just got me. I loved it.
