This post made me squee! I'm afraid I don't have anything original to add, I just wanted to agree with everything you said. :) It's so amazing to have been part of such a wonderful and loving fandom. I'm glad I'm not the only one getting emotional about the anniversary. Thanks for sharing the video, it was brilliant.

I did all my movie watching 'alone', as I knew of no other LOTR fans in my town. But by the time ROTK came out I was so well known at my local cinema that they presented me with a poster and gave me lunch.

That's nice with the poster and lunch! And you met us all when you emerged into writing fanfic! :) How did fanfic start with you?

I encountered fanfic via the official LOTR movie site. People kept posting links to ff.net fics. Then I 'met' Febobe, and never looked back.

That's an awesome way to get involved! I started on ff.net too and then went on SoA and Henneth Annun primarily. :)

Every Christmas I think of all the wonderful friends these movies brought together. I remember those first3 Christmas's where I had one of these wonderful movies to look for and how after the dust had settled and the movies were over, how sad I was the following Christmas and on. So many writers on LOTR's companions fell off and disappeared, which was something I mourned. Love that there are still a few that still share this fantastic fandom

Yes i'm glad there are a group still around - fandom participation has changed but my love will never end or die and i'm just waiting for the muse to return to give me a plot bunny or two. I got the 75th anniversary LotR and will reread it to celebrate. :)
Yes, all Decembers are for getting excited that a new movie was coming out- i remember the HObbit movies created a stir for me and i did midnight premieres gatherings with my friends.

It’s wonderful to see a post from you on this special Lord of the rings occasion. I plan to watch the extended version of fellowship this evening. I wish we could all be somewhere and enjoy it together but I have no idea when that will be safe again. So many things have changed over the years and I remember well how young you were when we first met in New Jersey. I was looking at the pictures that I have the other day of you, Dana, slightly Turkish, Garnet Took, and me. That was a convention to remember. I hope you and your family have a lovely holiday and that sometime before too long we get to visit in person again and catch up.

I love the video and I have watched it repeatedly. It’s a little bit of happiness on a very nostalgic occasion.

OH my dear Took! We had so much fun meeting! :) We were young hobbitses and now we are getting older-- but looking the same ;) (like Bilbo!)
Hope we will see each other again in another hobbit moot!

The video is a funny one- i love it a lot and think it's an amazing tribute.

Hope you're well dear- shoot me a text when you're available . <3
