As you know from our texts and from the IMs on FB with you, me, and Speedyhobbit, I wasn't planning on going until you had seen it and reported back. Like you, I was very upset about that last one, but the closer it gets the more I realize that I have to see it because, it is the last one and I've come this far, I need to finish even if it lets me down

I can't...can't...not go... for better or worse, i tell you. I'm finishing it with expectations low. there will be fanfiction, there will be Legolas sliding off whatever he slides off ( maybe even fly this time :P) there will be Tauriel/Kili love fest of sorts which was alluded to in the trailer... but how about overall? will the good outweigh the bad ? I sure hope so...!
And yes, that clip was awesome bookverse like addition so PJ remembered something about Tolkien. :P
And i think we'll have a good Dol Guldur scene.
I think they will kill the dragon fairly quickly and then move on to character moments before spending last 40 min of movie on battle... we will see what happens.

I'm crossing my fingers that this third one is better than the second, but I don't have super high expectations. That being said I have more hope that this one will bring me back the magic of Middle earth and hobbits! I will definitely be going the first few days it's out!

I'm looking forward to it. I don't have a lot of expectations of it being very faithful to the book, but I am looking forward to seeing more of Freeman's Bilbo. I am a little leery of a couple of things. Bilbo had better get his shining moment with the Arkenstone!

And Pippin's SONG. OMG! I can forgive PJ for just about anything for bringing us that song.

Pippin's song is great! I really like it as well-- i think it's better than Sheeran's song.
I think Freeman's Bilbo is great-- i really want more of him!
Hope PJ does'nt deviate too much but it's highly likely that he will... i just hope he includes Bilbo and Arkenstone...

Thank you SO much for the Bilbo clip. I fervently hope there's a LOT of THE hobbit in "The Hobbit". The growth, courage, and resiliency of hobbits is still my first love in LOTR.

That's good your'e having the point of view that they're just the movies-- i am going with that perspective going into this last one... hope that can make me like this movie. :)
