Really? That must have even been before my time. What happened then?

It was around about the time I showed up. It was only there for...what, a day? They just locked people inside of it for a while. It wasn't anything actually dangerous but I definitely wouldn't visit anyway.

That's... really odd, actually. Very tame by the usual standards. But I guess not everything they do is always a death trap... like Mothers' and Fathers' Day, or April Fool's. But you're right. It's not worth the risk.

How long have you been here, Shiki?

Thank you for making the announcement.

Although if the post office fiasco was any indication... it seems like even people who have been here could use the occasional reminder.

[Someone's just a bit frustrated after the post office and raven's blood issues.]

Sad but true. But when it comes to things like the post office, the town intentionally preys on the desperate people here... people went after their stuff fully knowing what's going on.

Well, I'm sure most people will try and avoid it if we're given a choice. We might not be.

That's true. I-I hope it isn't. But if given the choice, I hope people stay away. I'm still trying to deal with this personality-change thing, I'd like to deal with one thing at a time here...

I hope we do get a choice. If I'm gonna be screwed over, I wanna go in with my eyes open, you know?

Yeah, me too. I doubt that we'd be lucky to have something thrown at us that we could consciously avoid twice in a row, though. And from the phone calls I've been hearing, it sounds like the adults have been told about the hotel, the teens to some party and the kids to a summer camp.

[There is a note of worry in her voice.] Do you really believe that something as terrible as what happened at the post office will happen at these events?

There's a good chance. I-I mean I don't want to sound paranoid or all doom-and-gloom here, but... Westport was a pretty terrible place, despite the town making it look like it was normal on television. And it pretty much appeared out of nowhere too, like the post office and now this hotel business.

Westport?? You mean you were able to leave Mayfield?

Right. There was some news reports showing Westport being full of people we all know from home. The next day, a road opened to Westport. But the place was a burned-out war zone. Then the road disappeared suddenly, and there were people trapped over there for almost a week....

Do you yourself have details on these events you mentioned? I would like to learn more of this town and it's ways, but those I live with only have so much knowledge.

[chaos will say nothing about the fact he honestly doesn't want to ask information from most of those in his home, for varied reasons. But he is very curious to learn what he can learn.]

Ah. Well. A bit, yes. I did go over to Westport, but thankfully I wasn't one of the people who got trapped over there. So I can give you some details, yes.

The post office is still around, though. If you're ever told you have a package there, don't trust it. In exchange for whatever it is, they take things like body parts or memories. Some people have thought it was worth it, b-but... I hate seeing people have to give in to the town like that.
