There's always a lot of new people in town, or people who might just... miss some things that goes on here, so let me make it very clear

[There is a note of worry in her voice.] Do you really believe that something as terrible as what happened at the post office will happen at these events?

There's a good chance. I-I mean I don't want to sound paranoid or all doom-and-gloom here, but... Westport was a pretty terrible place, despite the town making it look like it was normal on television. And it pretty much appeared out of nowhere too, like the post office and now this hotel business.

Westport?? You mean you were able to leave Mayfield?

Right. There was some news reports showing Westport being full of people we all know from home. The next day, a road opened to Westport. But the place was a burned-out war zone. Then the road disappeared suddenly, and there were people trapped over there for almost a week....

But that's such a mean trick! How could they be so cruel??

It's...just...what this town does, I'm afraid.

[Seems to cut herself off, giving a frustrated sigh.] ...I should be used to this by now, but every time I hear about how horrible this place can be...I simply cannot stand it.

I know. It's really terrible. I hate how helpless we are all here, too.

We're no more than puppets here...but at least we have some choices left to make on our own.

Right. All we can do is not let Mayfield get us down. If we do that, then they win.

You're right...It's so hard to stay strong sometimes, but the only other options are madness or total despair. I won't give into either.

You know Jecht? [Her tone warms considerably - not that it was frigid to begin with, but the mention of someone dear to her definitely makes her happy.] I was unaware he spoke of me to others. [She sounds so curious, but protocol prevents her from asking.]

[He first heard about her when Jecht was drunk and throwing bottles at the post office... but she doesn't need to know that, right?]

Ah, yeah, I do. He's been coaching me in blitzball and training me how to fight as well.

[You, sir, are a very good judge of what is and isn't appropriate to reveal to Garnet. The mention of blitzball and training is just enough to stall any further questioning in that direction.] That's wonderful. So you play on his team, then? What's it like?

Yeah, pretty much since the beggining. I was a little skeptical at first, but it's been pretty fun. Coach is tough, and he's, uh, pretty intense. But I owe him a lot for helping me train. He's rough, but I know he's a good guy deep down.

We're still trying to recruit so we have enough for 2 blitzball teams, though. So if you or anyone else is interested in playing, let me know. We only need a few more!
