I'm so glad you liked it

Stephen is a darling and I quite dote on him, although you couldn't tell that from the horrible angsty things I have had done to him on occasion...

If y'all could just ignore the double posting of Part 5 (2nd version is the uber correct one) - damned anonymous posting and a slow internet got the better of me!

Oh - and I should have mentioned at the start: big thanks to feroxargentea for her outstanding flash beta-ing on this. It was generously offered, above and beyond, and caught a lot of typos for me. The Best!

Is it not possible for anonymouses to delete one of the parts that have appeared twice? :D

By all means, betas are valuable and should be treated with care.
*hugs betas in general and in particular*

I tried, but I couldn't seem to get it to do it - I will try it again when I'm less befuddled with posting.

If you can't then do not worry! The main thing is that this story is up.
*dotes on it*

Mod Comment: I've deleted the duplicate section. (I think only mods, and possibly the creator of the original post if they didn't happen to be a mod, can delete anon comments.)

I mean the creator of the actual post, y'know, the meme itself - not the stories posted to it, which are anonymous, so their writers don't get control over them. And in this case the original poster is a mod anyway. Oh it's all so complicated *g*

Yay for the DBA. I adore this story :-) :-)

Yay for the DBA
I have my own acronym? Yays right back at you for that!
*hugs and pets acronym*

And my thanks too to the Mod who tidied it all up for me - another instance of 'above and beyond'.

Once a person comments anonymous, LJ doesn't track who 'owns' that comment - it really is anonymous. The original anon can't delete it any more than any other random anon.

The user who created the post can delete comments to it, and mods can, but that's it.

Dearly Beloved Alt Ending anonymous February 22 2012, 15:26:36 UTC
Just in case there is anyone out there who would have preferred this strictly canon and with no slash... Not many I'm guessing!

Alternative non-slashy endingAlthough he would not acknowledge it, the wound inflicted by Diana was no less raw today than the day it had been given, and he would indeed have found it entirely too painful to be at the centre of such a concentrated domestic joy as this when he had been denied the chance of a similar happiness. And yet, underneath all this pain and it’s loathsome accompanying jealousy and self-pity, there was the tiniest acknowledgement, only very newly hatched, that perhaps it would never have been possible with Diana anyway. He could never have stood before a Church of England altar as Jack, waiting anxiously for his bride with his eyes fixed eagerly on the church doors as they opened to admit her, now did. And nor, as the organ sounded its note and the congregation rose to its feet, could Stephen imagine Diana walking so quietly down the aisle of his own church towards him as Sophie, ( ... )

It is charming canon, and I like it very much because your writing is so very good.
*nods*

I adore the real ending though! :D

I didn't really think many here would actually want it to be non-slash, but I did it anyway! :-)

I like non-slash.

The slash bit of the first ending was touching, yet seemed... odd somehow. A little out-of-place? I dunno... maybe just me I wanted a HAPPY JACK/SOPHIE WEDDING!FIC! IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?! ONE BIT OF LIGHT JOYFUL SWEETNESS BEFORE TEH ANGST? DOES STEPHEN HAVE TO RAIN THE SORROW AND THE WOE EVERYWHERE HE GOES*?! D: D: D:

Oh, er-coughs-uh, sorry about that. My comment seems to have run away with me there - Wonderful fic! Well done, brava! :D

*Oh yeah, he does. Canon, that ;-) Poor Stephen!
