Thank you.
*sniffles*

I am of your opinion. Indeed, Jack would take it harder if Stephen went first. I also love that you gave dear Hen something to do. He is generally an underused character.

*hugs*

There are so many magnificent characters in the Aubreyad that it is hard to use them all the time; but I do agree with you on the subject of Hen. He definitely gets less screen time than he deserves.

*Gulp*

Why o why do I read these on public transport?

This kills me as surely as...the end of Lord of the Rings (book), Grave of the Fireflies, Ghost, and Ibn Fadlan's translation of the warrior's prayer f the Rus (Vikings. Anything where their loved ones are waiting.

Lo, there do I see my father.
Lo, there do I see my mother, my sisters and my brothers.
Lo, there do I see the line of my people back to the beginning.
Lo, they do call to me.
They bid me take my place on Asgard in the halls of Valhalla,
Where the brave may live forever.

*offers tissues* I'm like that with ghost stories - I always end up reading them before I go to bed, and from then on my imagination runs wild.

Our boys are no less heroes than any characters from mythology, so they deserve and equal, if not better, send off. I'm glad you liked it, even with the sniffles.
