Oh, this is charming! For one, an early Jack AND Hen! And then a hungry Jack... :D

The cheese was covered with pocket lint

I had great fun writing this. I hoped the star creature was not a problem. I pictured him a little like an alien version of Stephen!

No problem at all. :D

Oh, that is a very charming picture of the alien. So when is he taking on human form to be with the lighter of the two?

"His blue gaze rested on the heaving horizons. He was reasonably content, although hungry."

And there we have young Jack in a nutshell!

This was a lovely read - such reminiscenses are hard to come by later in life - thankfully the star came to our aid.

I realise I need to come by some Aubrey Maturin icons!

Yes, JA is always hungry. And he does not burn it off as easily as his friend Hen.

I took some liberties here. According to canon 'Henage Dundas ate the cheese.' But I figured, it being Jack's birthday, Hen would share.

We never see enough of Heneage! I have always wanted more tales of them onboard together.
What a comment about poor Mr. Watson, so stricken in years!

these beings were delicious. Mosquito's would sense it, as would girls.

...and fans of all genders! :DDD

Thank you! We definitely need more young Jack and Hen adventures :-)

They are so cute together. We actually have a lot to thank Hen for. He was JA's first best friend. (I don't really count Queenie, she was older...)
