I remember seeing one surprising typo, but I'm not sure now if it was DI or HMSS - I had both books with me.
It's nice to see other relatively new people around :)

i think 'desolation island' is my favorite so far, just because of all the crap that occurs within it. man.

(There's an animated version with different pictures as well, which is cool, but I don't tend to use moving icons myself).

Maybe you would like to join mandc_read, where we are reading the books chapter by chaper at the weekends? At the moment we are at The Surgeon's Mate, chapter six. :D
Thank you for offering you audiobooks and the Beeb afternoon play. Is that the same as this?
As to the books we had a number of links to audiobooks when
HMS Surprise
Post Captain
and Master and Commander were posted there. I think a lot of people on this comm will be thrilled to find more audiobooks, as long as we please keep in mind that most of those are copyrighted and we would not like to step on anybody’s toes. Surely there will be a solution. :D
Once again, welcome!

Come and join me in the Desolation Island comments - I've been having fun commenting as I go, and maybe some later arrival will see my comments at some point :)
(This applies to esteven and everyone else as well, of course, if they want :) )

the BBC play looks to be the same, though i have mine in three separate mp3 files. as for the audiobooks, maybe flocking them to members of the community only?

Yeah, they're full of typos - the old HarperCollins versions at least. Some obvious - this week's chapter in the groupread has Jack pacing the qBuarterdeck - and some where I'm not sure whether the publishers or Patrick O'Brian goofed, like with Faster Doudle/Doodle.

... *is giggling her head off at 'qBuarterdeck'* oh dear.
