I opened a completely random old Group Read post for admin purposes (Dreamwidth ID claiming) and found this very old prompt:

There should be khat-fic (why isn't there??)

NOBODY EVER WROTE ME ANY KHAT-FIC! Please, somebody? :-)

Treason's Harbour, Chapter 7: he had brought a basket of fresh khat, and as they chewed it, to find whether in fact it made the heat seem less, he branched off to Egyptian adultery, fornication and paederasty - Sodom itself was only a few days march east-north-east, behind the Wells of Moses - in their less tragic aspects.

Stephen treated first the little bear and then Davis, whom he told in no uncertain terms about the right treatment of cubs while he bound his forearm and wrist. The animal, having resented being chucked under its chin, had swiped its claws across the man’s arm, nearly slashing open the veins. Stephen thought the lubber deserved that for mistreating the bear cub

Stephen turned sideways and regarded his friend, usually so calm and composed, over the rim of his spectacles. Jack’s face was flushed, his blue eyes wide and an even brighter blue than usual, and he was still short of breath. Was he disguised in drink, Stephen asked himself, though only in his bosom. If Jack had had anything stronger than lemonade, he would have been stretched out on his bed in no time, asleep in moments and rattling the foundation stones with the vibrations from his snoring

They found release close together, after which Stephen cleaned them with his shirt-tail. They relaxed and he felt Jack’s drowsy kisses on his brow and hair. He snuggled down in the hollow of Jack’s throat to regain his breath and to plan another assault on the body so beloved to him

I still think it's deeply deeply rude to fall asleep on someone after sex! I'd never do such a dreadful thing!

I beg to differ. :D I'd consider it rude if it were done on purpose but Jack was completely innocent this once. ;D

Well, I think the saffron chicken and the fish will eat cold very well, the lamb can be reheated and maybe Jack had the sardines before he assaulted Stephen in the morning?

A delightful stolen moment for the boys! And Jack's falling asleep after is kind of inevitable, as Stephen should well know - Khat or not, that's just what happens....!

*g* Well, at least Jack woke up early enough, hopefully wakening Stephen without sardine on his breath. Maybe he had a fig first? ;D Now, that's an idea!

I'll keep that in mind. Maybe I should make a trolley post at the weekend with all the good things Jack did not eat so they will not go to waste. After all, they will stay fresh on the BGT

fresh sardines with ginger paste, lamb with rosemary, saffron chicken, vegetables sprinkled with aniseed, cardamom rice and fresh figs

Sounds delish! I'll eat it up if Jack don't want it :-)

Since we cannot have a weekend without any post at the read, there will be a food post coming up. Good thing that the BGT keeps everything as fresh and hot/cold as needed at any time
