I have read all of your posts and I really like the way you break concepts down about these characters. I agree that book Sookie and Pam have a much better relationship than the TV show. I tried to like True Blood but is too far away from the books. I love fanfic also but it is nice to read a analysis about the characters that Ms Harris has so graciously given the world.

Thank you. :D Sookie and Pam on the show are completely screwed. Pam will be too busy fighting for Eric's love to ever have a friendship with Sookie. Ugh - AB has ruined both of them. The best thing True Blood gives me is an increased appreciation of the books. :D

You know, your title got me all excited that you'd written a post about Mustapha Khan (who I find utterly fascinating), but I'll take this, too. We don't really know enough about him for a proper post, anyway, I suppose, no matter how much I want the backstory on him and the little shooter dude ( ... )

I know! I find him intriguing too. Based on his "Blade" impersonation, I'm just sitting there thinking up elaborate pasts for him - wherein he was involved in killing vampires and such. I love the "Blade" movies. And I'm so intrigued by his relationship with Warren. Mustapha, Kennedy and D'Eriq are my favourite new characters - I just love them all with their rich backgrounds that we hardly hear about. :D

I think even if Felipe had direct evidence (and he could probably frighten it out of Palomino, Rubio and Parker) he couldn't conceivably have a go at Sookie. He could certainly frighten the shit out of her and threaten to take it out on Eric instead. And Eric for his part has to play it very carefully because he has to stay alive and keep his head above water.

I absolutely agree - that's one of the only things True Blood got right about Sookie. It's just a shame that they haven't shown it often, and when they have it's been linked with nastiness.

But I don't see Felipe pushing Sookie that hard to have her arc up at him. Victor ( ... )

I haven't seen enough Blade to have a particularly strong opinion on him, though that opening scene in one of the movies with the vampire club and the blood sprinklers was perfect - both visually arresting and brilliant characterization ( ... )

I've seen all three movies - love them. They're great. Very well worth watching if you like arse kicking without taking names. Even has strong female characters, rather than your standard cringing damsel in distress.

I like Kennedy and Danny - I wish we saw more of them. I'd be happy with them taking up more time. D'Eriq warned Sookie about the fairies, so he's a good 'un.

I think Felipe will make his position very clear - but he won't push her past the point of no return. Just like Eric did it right when he first met her - and in their subsequent meetings - enough to put the fear into her, but no more.

Niall is a wildcard. But I don't think Sookie will bring him in. Unless he has some sort of indication, he doesn't come. It was Claudine that had the 'fairy life alert bracelet' on her. :D

I squee every time I see Lily and Jack too. :D

We can't forget the Naill "card" either duckbutt60 January 2 2012, 02:03:54 UTC
We know he's back but not for how long...Would Felipe do anything to Sookie that would aggravate the Fae prince? We remember he over-ruled Victor's silvering of Eric while Sookie was away being tortured. But that overruling of Victor had to do with the King's personal vow of protection, not anything to do her fae heritage. Does Felipe even know about her heritage??

At the time of the takeover, did Victor pass on to Felipe Eric's warning about "forces you can't imagine will be set into motion"? I have the feeling that Victor has kept a lot of information from Felipe as he was shoring up his own kingdom-to-come. Information is power and Victor wanted as much power as he could from the get-go.

Would Naill be stand-up enough to go to bat for Sookie in front of Felipe, and by extension his great great grandson-in-law?

I think the fairies are certainly a wild-card in this. Should Sookie play the "fairy princess" card? Maybe so, in this case....

Yeah, I'd say that Niall is someone not worth angering - but that's another reason to take it out on Eric. Niall would blaze in for Sookie...Eric, not so much ( ... )

Felipe seems in a bit of a bind to me. He has an even weaker state thanks to Pam and Sookie taking out Victor [I credit P/S with this as they tag-teamed and dealt him the final blow] yet is complicit in the situation by not stepping in to address the issues as they were happening. He could have tried to defuse the situation by manoeuvring Victor to do his 'Regenting' over in NoLa - but he didn't. NoLa is about 5 hours away from Shreveport so, given vamps have fewer hours in the day, it might have at least put on hold the problem. That way they aren't in the same zip code and fucking with each other the whole time. Instead he's allowed the Eric/Victor feud to reach its conclusion and now he has to come and be the king and mete out consequences. If he's trying to 'stronghold' himself in Nevada and wanted to stay one step removed from his extended and weak empire, he's done a piss poor job of it. Hence the bind he finds himself in. If he punishes Eric hard then that leaves LA even weaker and the spies would be quick to report that out to ( ... )

I don't think Victor would have been manoeuvred very easily. Felipe did one of the only things he could - made him someone else's problem. :P ( ... )

The main post got something ticking in my brain, and you've really pushed it home... I think it's possible that Felipe will make Sookie stick the knife in - i.e. We know Eric is likely to be punished, and we know it'll be to get at Sookie as much as it will be to get at Eric... so to make the torture PARTICULARLY nasty, I think Felipe might either make Sookie chose the punishment, or actually conduct it herself. She's clearly capable of fighting when she has to, but is she capable of inflicting pain on someone she loves?

I think she'd probably do it because she had to, but I'm not sure a vampire would think her capable.

I was thinking that was entirely a possibility - that Felipe would make her do something to Eric or choose how to punish Eric. I'm sure he'll try for some mental torture on her, to show her he's not some figure of fun she can have contempt for.

I think she can do what she has to. And I bet Sookie can do it. But I cringe at the bashing she'll get from fans as a result.

I agree - Felipe wouldn't see her as capable - but the terror is in making her do it.
