Wrongs Made Right

Okay, so this one was one of the biggest concerns people had here that I haven't covered yet. I keep getting distracted. Recently because I dubbed the new season of True Blood "The Season of the Too Many Ghost Daddies". It's Ghost Daddy fucking Bingo, with one token Ghost Granny (Adele). Behold:

I could gabble away, but instead I'm going to make bold statements, which I'll back up with reasoning if you need me to...

I think a lot of fanfic writers and readers have these hair brained concepts because they are unhappy with themselves or their lives. Oh some of them have argued other wise, but if your fantasy is that everything would be handed to you on a plate with no effort on your part, then you've got some self esteem issues.

I'm pretty sure we'll see Sookie do what she always does - make someone else's life better with the magic fairy box, because ultimately it'll make her happy.

No, I actually agree with you.

The dream is to have the perfect guy to do for you. All you have to do is abdicate all responsibility to him so that you can have quite the fine life. To never have any hassle - I mean, you can strive and struggle for equality, or you can at least let a rich man pay you to give it up. You pay for it with your body, brain and soul.

I'm sure she will too - I just can't pick who it is she'll use it on. My money's on Hunter, Pam or Sam.

My gut says it'll be Pam - but I have eaten something that didn't agree with my gut, so it's possible it's lying just to spite me ;o)

Lol. I'm thinking for Sam, maybe, since he hasn't been saved by Sookie yet. Pam has been (at Rhodes) and of course, Hunter.

I kinda like the idea of her not using it at all. I’d be fine if the series ended w/ Sookie’s having the cluviel dor in her possession, knowing it’s there to use if she sees fit, or perhaps even deciding it’s for the best to not use it. She has, after all, been able to do plenty of good for others w/out the use of magic ( ... )

That's a possibility, but I see that she's already been tempted to use it, so she's definitely going to find something to do with it before the end of the books. And yes - she has done plenty of good for others without a cluviel dor. :D ( ... )

That draw that she feels toward the cd is interesting. And she makes the reference to Gollum. Idk where CH is going w/ that, if anywhere ( ... )

It is interesting that she's so drawn to it. I intend to think on that some more.

Lol - they are a rowdy bunch who need to sit in the corner. :D And yeah, she's gotten into scrapes that she wouldn't have if she could bring herself to say "No" but it's a mixed bag.

I don't see her living on the edge that much, and it doesn't make sense with her personality anyway. She is who she is, and taking herself back to an earlier time to re-live things, or screw up her life now is too taxing. She is likely to get a beating again too - it's not as if you get your one session, and that's it.

It's one of the good ones. But it updates slow as molasses because the writer is a grad student. So no rush. :D

I have to begin with saying that the whole Cluviel Dor confuses me - mainly because it`s so close in name to my favorite ice cream http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/Images/ExternalImages/ProductsDetailed/8/000208.jpg?ts=634137055712... )

Lol - it's like good ice cream that emits good vibes. So yeah, ice cream is a good idea.

I'd be fine with it never being used, but I think Sookie herself wants to use it, at least at this point in time. Of course, she's had no time to process it all. Maybe if she goes through a period of doubting that Eric will stay with her, she'll want to keep it around to make herself feel better - and as a 'just-in-case' thing. But CH has lots of balls in the air that never come down again. I like it too - never finding out what Hot Rain is doing, or whether Mickey will make a return. It's far more realistic.

Oh man, if I had it, it'd be like nice soap in my house - saving it forever for a special occasion. :D I think part of the reason it'll get used is because not using it is a heavy burden on Sookie - that everything could change if she uses it - like an escape hatch. I think once she uses it, it'll be an indicator she's on the right path and there's nothing she wants to change so much that she keeps the cluviel dor in reserve.

My good ice cream disappears fairly quickly (like an ice cube in Sahara, approximately) - as do my good soaps (I make them myself so there are always more where they came from). But one good wish? No, I would hold on to that.

I wonder how Gran felt when she got it? She ended up forgetting all about it. Or at least not using it.

I agree with you on how great it is that CH does not pull down all the balls she throws up. That was why it annoyed me a little bit that she felt she had to explain the sister`s death in the end of the Harper Connelly series. She didn`t have to do that IMO. We don`t get answers to all the questions we have.

I'm the comptroller of the ice cream and biscuits in the house, being that I'm the only non-ice cream and biscuit fiend. If I gave that control up, we would eat nothing but biscuits. :D

I think she did look at Sookie early on and put it aside for her. She would have felt a bit guilty about that.

That allowed Harper to have a HEA though. For Harper, she had to solve that mystery. She wouldn't get the perfect goal (the big house with Tolliver, and a sunny home life) but she got the satisfaction of her sister's death, and what changed and forged her life.

I almost wonder if Sookie will want to use it once Claude, and maybe the other fae, get wind of her having it around. Better to use it than have it fall into the wrong hands. Although maybe she'd even use it for Claude? I think if he pulled out the 'I'm lonely and want to go home to my family' card, she'd totally understand that and want to get the portal open for him.

It could be anyone though, and that's the treat. Might even be someone minor like Kennedy.

Oh, and I like that this has a nice Kiwi soundtrack by a Maori guy :)Ooshka

Oh yes - way better than having Claude use the thing. I think that could be a distinct possibility - because one of the spoilers I read said that we'd see Niall again in one of the new books (from CH herself in an interview).

I just don't want anything bad to happen with Kennedy. :D I'd be happy if she saved her life.

Well I guess that could solve the problem of all the fae gathering at Hooligan's, Niall popping in to tell them all to settle down, or to take them home.

And I think Sookie would use it to give someone else something she couldn't have herself. The obvious would have been taking away Hunter's telepathy, but if that can't be done, it might be something like making sure Kennedy gets a second chance and a 'normal' life, despite her past. Sookie's never going to quite have that, despite the progress she's made at finding her own niche in the community. She's also got that one foot in the supe community and there's no changing that any time soon.

It would - but I could go either way and say Niall will just open the portal again and be done with it.

I don't think she'd change anyone else's past - because that steals hard won battles from them. Kennedy might not end up with Danny if she had a second chance, and that effects Danny's life. So she'd be choosing Kennedy's happiness over Danny's.

No - I didn't even consider she could get out of the supe community - that's scuppered with Sookie being a telepath.

No vampires in jail. :D But I'm sure that Sookie could figure out a way to hide the body - she's done it before.
