Peas in a Pod

This one is a corollary to my post about Bill. I kinda touched on the whole gift thing with telepathy, and that lead to some diverging thoughts. Often times when a new novel in the series comes out, I get a few people contacting me asking if I'm sure Eric is HEA guy. Along with that, the common complaint about Eric is that he's not really Eric, and ( Read more... )

I always thought I married a "Bill" because he's rather quiet, but I realize, after reading your take on Sookie and Eric's relationship, that I'm really married to an Eric. We interact SO much the way you point out. And, as always, PMR, you nailed it with your analysis.

I married a Sookie, being that I'm like Eric - but without the evil. Eric doesn't talk all that much, really. Bill in the company of other vampires is a veritable social butterfly.

I often wonder how the Bill/Sookie relationships depicted in fanfic (she does as she's told) fare long term, but I suspect that they just don't. Most of those relationships I've known where one partner has to hide themselves, they break up. Which is not HEA to me.

Love the post. Hope CH thinks the same way and she wrote it.

In Small Town Wedding, I got the impression Sam used Sookie.
Sookie really wanted her gun with her. She wanted to kill or hurt people if she had to. She broke the kids arm.
I didn't sense anything wrong between her and Eric. He doesn't like reading text messages and she knows about the shifter hearing. A short call to say hi touch base. Do you have anything to say about A Small Town Wedding? Curious to see your take on it.

I don't think she's put it all in by complete accident, you know ( ... )

Really great job, love this post. It gives me a lot of hope for Sookie's happiness, and that's what's most important to me - even though I like that Eric can be happy too.

And that's enough from me, since I shouldn't be allowed to converse with people on the internet. I'm far too chatty :D

Why thank you. :D I want Sookie to be happy more than anything - I wouldn't want her to change into the perfect Stepford wife. But this is why I'm always so sure of Eric as HEA - merely because he's the person who knows secret things other people don't want to hear.

It makes the fingers tired too. :D

CH gave me a cryptic but still definitive answer when I asked her if Sookie will be happy by the end of the series. She said, "She'll be happy but I don't know if my version of her happy ending is going to be the same as what other people are hoping for ( ... )

HEA in fanfic seems to mean that there are no more problems, Sookie doesn't speak to any other person but Eric, and spends all night having sex. Most of the rest of the time, she's sleeping or spending her time in Eric's house. I think that most people are going to be unhappy - they're expecting white weddings and such. So I think that CH is right ( ... )

I like that you pointed out that a stubborn person needs to be with another stubborn person. SO TRUE.
I'm definitely a Sookie, and Erik is...well, an Eric. And we don't take sh*t from each other, so while we've had some hella good fights, we're great for each other. Finding the right person isn't about finding someone perfect, it's about finding someone who's weirdness meshes well with your own weirdness, and Eric and Sookie have that in each other.

In the interest of not replying to a bazillion (aka, three) entries at once, as I've been on an internet hiatus this week, I give the avatar about passing out in orgasmic bliss, 2 thumbs up. Unconsciousness generally isn't a good thing, not to mention, someone who makes a habit of having sex for hours, and then promptly sleeping the day away, is likely to end up with a raging UTI.

Being that I'm stubborn, I know doormats just make me want to annihilate them. It's not healthy. :D

I'm the Eric in our relationship, and Mr. Minty is the Sookie. I'm quite surprised he hasn't stoved in my head thanks to manipulation and high handedness...also, thankful. :D I know just how irritating I can be, and it makes me like Sookie that she's willing not to stake him in his sleep. It's why I'm always against Sookie just acquiescing to Eric's every desire, because I know, if I have a mind to be selfish, I'd suck the life right out of Mr. Minty if he was a doormat. Thank God he's stubborn as hell. :D

Particularly since they don't publish those deaths - passing out is really something you have to worry about. You're on your way to a stroke or an aneurysm - and you can't vamp up someone who has a spontaneous haemorrhage in their brain - they'd be dead before you realise. As for the UTIs - ooh - yes - so they would.
