Last Tuesday turned out to be a great snow day. So public school snow policy went into effect. When this happens, our center opens later and closes earlier. It's now routine when there's snow that Jana has to make "tracks" while I work on getting the snow off the Jeep. Weather.com says it's currently 10F but feels like -9F.

Major brr...darn wind. At least it looks like it's only today this week to be this bad.

Today's predicted high is 45F and it's sunny. Thursday night, we got a mix of rain and ice with a lot of wind. The winds were bad enough to take out power lines in the middle of the night and we lost power around 3:30am. I slept through it, but the UPS's throughout the house kept Michael up ( Read more... )

Back on 1/14, Michael had to fly out of town for business, but one of our vendors had given me tickets to a UPitt basketball game and I decided to take Jana. Afterall, Pitt was playing Georgetown and it was bound to be a good game (Pitt won, 69-60). We seem to have been blasted by the weather yesterday. Storms hit Pittsburgh 3 times, starting with 3.5" of rain just in the morning. The afternoon wave took out power lines, flooded townships and damaged buildings in the city with a third wave, well, I think it came after most people were home or post curfew in some areas ( Read more... )

I think this weather is getting to me. It's kinda miserable. Cold and damp with rain/snow showers. Extended forecast suggests a break from showers for Wednesday, that's it. Gah. Crazy. I noticed snow showers or small hail upon coming home from work last night.
