Super Sprouting!

On Friday night, I threw in greens seeds into a coffee filter in a zippy bag with some water. About 50% of the seeds have germinated as of tonight! I did just put them on top of a radiator, that was about it. I transferred many of the sprouts into seed starters already. Hopefully I'll be able to move them into the terrarium/cold box in a couple of ( Read more... )

I always feel kind of weird posting on Livejournals, but I found yours on IceRocket while searching for posts on seed-starting. You are germinating in paper before you put them in the ground? I work at park seed, in the seed germination lab, and we don't usually plant test germinations (done outside of the soil) because their roots are not really strong enough. I could be missing something.
