After Way More Than a Month of LJ Silence, Albeit Not Internet Silencepen_over_fistJune 9 2011, 21:12:22 UTC
dsglk I logged in just to answer your comment MILESSSSSSSSS I'VE MISSED YOU ;A;
ALSO OH MAN I HAD NO IDEA YOU READ WHISTLE! I really love Whistle!, probably way too much; I've spent a pretty ridiculous amount of time this year overanalyzing the characters with snarkfrog on googl.docs.
I wouldn't expect a lot of people to know both of the characters in the second one, since a: they're from different fandoms, and b: "Dextera" is actually a nameless protagonist whose nickname I adapted from a friend who roleplays him. Kieran's overenthusiasm is totally fun, though, especially juxtaposed with Dextera's gloomy passivity.
Hey ya' Missed you like I miss a fast internet connection and non Santa Fe air which may contain trace amounts of oxygen (a lot, a lot)
I love Whistle! I used to read that when I was 13 (not very long ago except relatively, though I think the sentiment still stands) I still have the first few manga on my shelf. The characters are so worth over analyzing. Shige is my favorite. For some reason I seem to be drawn to sports manga even though I find most sports (that aren't tennis) just boring to watch.
Well, I could see how that would cause problems. I know Kieran (Fire Emblem, right? I recently got that games on sale at K-mart, actually), but what fandom is this nameless protagonist Dextera from?
I am beginning to believe that fast internet connections are a myth. Or it might just be me, who knows!
Shigeki is everyone's favorite at first, although halfway through my second reread Tsubasa overtook his spot for me. After I started picking everyone apart, though, I got ridiculously fond of Taki and Masaki, silly background characters though they are, and I guess they're my favorites now. I'm not a even a fan of sports manga, and certainly not sports (except the World Cup for soccer, which is only somewhat Whistle!'s fault) but I love the characters and their progression in Whistle! so much that it's easily one of my favorites.
Yes, Kieran is from Fire Emblem. Dextera is from a PS2 game called Baroque that is... generally kind of unpopular in the small crowd that has played it, hahahahaha. I like it, myself, although all the dying you have to do freaks me out every time.

The second one cracks me up, even though I don't know the characters.
