Yes, you saw a reference to Ruby. Well spotted. In this canon, she escaped along with all the other demons when the hellgate got opened, just like in the series.

However, instead of stalking Sam, she passed herself off as a hunter. That way, she wouldn't end up back in hell with the rest of the demons.

When Gabe suggested using the Devil's trap, she found a way to be conveniently on the other end of the battlefield, well away from the trap, and the exorcisms.

There were actually demons escaping at the devil's den/portal into hell. Lilith just wasn't there. She's somewhere else, and Gabe is worried that she's at the factory where Chloe went.

He dosen't have any proof of that, btw. She could have been anywhere. Being a dad, Gabe's first thought is his own daughter.

Of course, it would make a lot of sense, dramatically, if that's where she was.
