Happy Galentine's Day
Not so relevant to this post, except that it's a story about a woman who is awesome: against my better judgment I got antsy and posted fic on a Saturday evening, even though we all know that's a bad time to do these things if you want anyone to see it. So in case you're interested and missed it, A Fairer House than Prose (or on DW) is my long-advertised Irina Derevko fic. (And omg, I'm writing fic again! It's been so long!)

Now on to the main event: Happy Galentine's Day!!! I've stolen this from chaila43, who stole it from Parks and Recreation's Leslie Knope. Here be some blatant c&p work from Chaila's post:

What’s Galentine’s Day? Oh it’s only the best day of the year. Every February 13, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home and we just come and kick it breakfast-style. Ladies celebratin’ ladies.
In that spirit, this is my official Galentine’s Day party post! Galentine's Day is celebrated with frittatas (which you will have to take care of yourself), gifts and essays on why we're all awesome:
If you look inside your bags you will find a few things: A bouquet of hand crocheted flower pens, a mosaic portrait of each of you made from the crushed bottles of your favorite diet soda and a personalized 5,000-word essay on why you are all so awesome.
How it works:
-- Just comment to this post! I can't make you mosaic portraits from diet soda bottles, but I can make you meta, recs, or ficlets, and I can certainly tell you why you're awesome.
-- If you want, include a question/request for a bit of meta or recs of a certain kind, or a prompt (or a couple for me to choose from), and I may write you a drabble or a comment fic of unpredictable length, or make you a mini-picspam, or do something totally random, if inspiration strikes. If my creativity fails or if I'm overcome by your awesomeness, I will write you a 5,000 word essay comment on why you are so awesome, because I fangirl you all too. (Answers may or may not all happen this weekend but they will happen!)
-- In terms of fandoms, I'm game to try anything you know I’ve read or watched. Crossovers are fine too! (Possibly encouraged?)
-- You don't have to be on my flist (nor do you have to be a gal) to come to the party. If you can see this, you are invited!
