I'm pretty sure Saturday evening is one of the worst times to post fic, but I'm feeling impatient. The long-advertised Irina Derevko fic (and the first "real" fic I've written in over a year) is finally as complete as it's going to be, so now seems like as good a time as any ( Read more... )

This was lovely. I loved the Keats quote and its application to Irina's life as a spy, and that idea of negative capability fits her so well.

I have a feeling that if the last scene had happened in canon, things would have turned out very differently.

How did I miss this before? Valentine's week was crazy for me, but it is still mindboggling that I somehow missed not only new Alias fic, but AWESOME fic. I like this very considered, intelligent Irina, who is a great spy because of her ability to live without answers -- but perhaps becomes too able to live without them. I like the shifting uncertainties in her life and the resonance of her relationship with Jack both early and later on. Thank you so much for posting this -- it's tremendous!
