this and that

1. Apparently I live under a rock, because I'm still not entirely sure what Inception is. Judging from my Facebook list (and to a certain extent my flist here), it's a movie that EVERYONE IN THE WORLD has seen. Except me. Because I've not even heard of it outside of people talking about it, and I have no idea what it's about or who is in it or ( Read more... )

1. I don't think you're supposed to know anything about Inception before seeing it--and I haven't seen it, either.. I hear people really like it, though!

2. Cell phones are amazing, aren't they?

I think I have finally found the not-awful Sophie (and Sophie/Nate) fic over on the Pit, but it definitely doesn't fall into the "really well-done" category. In-character and pleasant, but certainly not excellent.

But I do think I'm now fairly committed to writing something. Just have to finish season two, rewatch a bit of season three, and figure out an ending. The rest will come. You know. I have a process. ;)

In other news, that XKCD is absolutely fantastic and I have no idea what Inception is, either. Leonardo DiCaprio boggles everybody's mind, maybe? I haven't been to the movies in nine months and I haven't seen a complete movie in the theatre in, er, thirteen months. So I'm clearly an excellent source!

1. I have not seen Inception either, but people were talking at church about how good it was.

2. I made the same switch in Dec. Not even a camera, to a Droid. Fun, fun!

3. My dad had that same comment when I went to college. He had everything in one suitcase and hitch-hiked to Birmingham. Kinda embarrassing taking a mini-fridge, stereo, and giant late-80's PC after that.

4. I RT that to my work twitter (most of whom are univ librarians). I do spend a lot of time trying to find out who I'm supposed to be contacting at some of these libraries. And trying to find the course listings/schedules where I'm starting my teacher cert - egads! I finally had to email and ask.

6. I was also surprised to see that Aldis is from NY City - to me, anyway, he has a perfect TN accent (down to the "all of y'all!).

Yeah, I am enjoying Leverage but don't feel inclined to think thinky thoughts or read loads of fanfic about it. I didn't realize that Aldis Hodge was that young! Oh well, he makes me Happy and he certainly isn't the only actor crush of late who is way-too-young-for-me-and-I-don't-care. I can go all Mrs. Robinson on my fannish imaginary boyfriends, right?

I agree with one of your friends who mentioned that Inception has a pretty intricate and tightly woven plot. It was really good but I find that movies don't quite Wow me as much as certain television shows do so there's that.

All the best with your move.
