prompt me!

May 22, 2010 15:18

I have a number of fics I want to be working on, but I can't quite seem to get back in the fic writing groove. So I'm soliciting drabble/five things prompts: I'll write a drabble or five things for the first five people to comment (possibly more if I feel like it, but I'm only committing to five at this point). Y'all know more or less what I watch/ ( Read more... )

I agree with you rather completely about everything you say here about John/Aeryn, "Institutional Memory," and, of course, "Sleeping in Light." It all probably goes without saying, but that's just not my style . . .

As for a prompt . . . how about this one: Five things that never happened to G'Kar.

P.S. I has new icon!

Ack!!! See, here's the difference between your memory and mine: you remember what did happen to G'Kar, whereas I...don't. The plot of things I only watched once and was never particularly fannish about: so not my strong suit!

Nevertheless, *buckles down for a challenge*

five times Ellison didn't feel like a father

As if I would have ANY POWER AT ALL to resist this!!! Though Catherine Weaver would be a good challenge. I'll say "hmm" so that we can pretend I'm dithering and that what I pick will be a surprise, but, well, I doubt anyone's going to be all that surprised which way I go with these. ;)

For me the defining scene of the end of the series was CJ and Toby talking about friendship and forgiveness and the Constitution in his kitchen. I mean, that whole episode is just so very, very wonderful, but that scene!

Oh, "Sleeping In Light" broke my heart (in a good way). One of the few TV episodes ever that made me cry.

If you'd like a prompt, maybe five times Zoe and Gillian met (and passed the Bechdel test)?

*bounces*

More of a challenge than it might seem, though, since they can't talk about Cal, and otherwise, they don't really like each other or have that much in common. Which is kind of awesome, I think. Thanks for this one!

Hee! The List of Beloved Female Characters who got Screwed in the End? ;) I actually started writing such a fic in the aftermath of BSG but stopped because it sounded more like you and me and Chaila and Becka than it sounded like Laura Roslin and Dana Scully and Elizabeth Weir and Kathryn Janeway. But perhaps I can see about resurrecting it (possibly with characterization just thrown to the wind...).

John/Delenn is kinda my OTP of OTPs

Huh. I don't think I ever knew this! And I must say it surprises me a little, though I suppose it surprises me less if I think of 16-year-old you. (At 16, I was in the throes of Mulder/Scully obsession, so yeah.)

I love Delenn, but I always found John one of the more boring characters on that show. I mean, he was never as boring as Stephen, but compared to pretty much everyone else, I was not very interested in him. And I was fine with John/Delenn--it worked with the plot and the characters and all that--but it never really did that much for me. My B5 OTP was Susan/Talia. :)

Never saw West Wing, but agree completely about J/A and SIL. *sigh*

Prompt... Xhalax, after capturing Talyn, Crais, Aeryn and Crichton

Xhalax!!!!!!! You mean like an AU in which she succeeded in capturing them? Hmm... Possibly I will cheat a bit with sort of a "Relativity" mid-ep canonical thing, though--I'm not sure how AU I'm feeling just at present. We'll see!
