SPRING! We've had snowdrops been and gone and now everything is covered in daffodils, yey. And in case that wasn't enough, I can tell it's spring cos that frakking bird is back, the one that sounds just like our house phone!

I think it's just as well, too. I am going to enjoy rewatching, and I'm going to enjoy writing the fics I still want to write for this fandom, and continuing to love it in that way, but I don't need, or frankly want, any more canon after this.

Who said anything about going cold turkey? ;) I'm not going anywhere with respect to this show: I'm writing one fic and mulling ideas for a couple of others, and I intend to commence on a rewatch at some point in the relatively near future. No turkeys for me, cold or otherwise.
But given my disappointment with a lot of what has happened in 4.5, I'm almost relieved that it's ending, to be honest. The ratio of awesome:really not cool has been (at least to my mind) highly unfavorable of late, and I'm a strong proponent of "quit while you're ahead." Or in this case, perhaps, "quit while you can still salvage some bits of awesome from the ever-growing pile of WTF." Oh show!

Miss you already! Especially because you completely stole my post for tomorrow, quite possibly verbatim. And that makes me laugh and cry all at the same time, because, yeah. This.
But among everything else this show and fandom has brought across my path, I will always love it best for an excellent fic that inspired a comment that inspired a conversation (the first of countless) that led to the best friendship I've ever had.

Miss you, too!!! I trust the flight home all worked like it was supposed to? Or at least worked well enough that you made it home in one piece!
