let me distract myself with shiny things

Aug 28, 2008 15:43

Life has me in full-fledged panic mode, generally. So I respond by flapping my hands joyfully in the general direction of things that have nothing to do with the chief cause for panic.

For instance, there are already 111 people watching galpalficathon!!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! I'm so thrilled by the initial burst of interest, and I very much hope this will ( Read more... )

I am STILL FREAKING OUT over Necessary Evil. OMG. THAT EPISODE. WHAT A GREAT STORY AND HOW BEAUTIFULLY TOLD!! I love, love, love, love this introduction of Odo's GREAT ANGST at being a FREAK as I'm currently giggling at his enjoyment of tormenting an alien character who worships his species. OMG. And his hilarious, "okay, so i have to a log now. everything is great thanks, the end" monologue. ANYWAY AND EVERYTHING ELSE INCLUDING ALL THAT YOU'VE MENTIONED. la la la. shooow.

<33

I AM REALLY EXCITED ABOUT GALPALFICATHON. AIIEEEEE

I have to say I am very much looking forward to the ficathon; I've not really written many true friendship pieces before and I'm looking forward to the challenge. *g*

I love DS9 BEYOND THE TELLING OF IT.

I'm currently making my boyfriend watch the entire series in order. We're almost to the end of season 4. OMG SO MUCH GOOD OMG. And he is so unspoiled that it makes me cackle with gleee at all the things he assumes that are wrong and will lead to insane delightful surprises down the road!

It's so frustrating to me that my current brainmedstuff makes me all noncreativey!! Otherwise I'd churn out episode-related fic like a MAD FIEND.

AIEEE. <333 How I wish wish wish for more little red fic on the top o' ds9!!! *shamelessly begs*

I am ridiculously watching s6 in order on a fast pace because I own it and watching s2 on a slow pace because the Spike channel is rerunning it about every three days. pellucid did it right and ordered all of them -- they've recently been put on a bit more of a sale on amazon ($238 for the whole set) and I'm SORT OF. NOT SURE. IF I SHOULD. YOU KNOW. BUY IT.

So tell me, what seasons of ds9 should a girl own? I have 6 and 7.

I will totally post about it if when I get around to rewatching.

And that's heartening to hear about B5. Londo and G'Kar are hands down the best things on that show, in my opinion. I think that Londo edges out G'Kar as my favourite, but only just and probably only because of the awesome accent (which isn't a mark against Andreas Katsulas because G'Kar's voice is one of the most wonderful choices about him: you know I love Farscape beyond the telling of it, but it would have been very easy to D'argo-ify G'Kar's voice and it...wouldn't have been right).

I hope you enjoy the review when you finally finish the series!

It says a lot of really, really interesting stuff, actually. And the reviewer is a huge Kira fan and devotes a "chapter" of her review just to her! One of the (non-spoilery) things I loved most is this -

It is so rare nowadays to come across a series (one that isn't a soap or a relationship drama, at any rate) that discusses the lives of adults as if they didn't inevitably tend towards entropy--all marriages ( ... )
