kind of grumpy

Nov 04, 2007 18:44

My shiny new iPod, which has been riddled with software glitches in the month that I've had it, seems really to have self-destructed. I tried the "games" function, and suddenly the entire thing was wiped. I've now tried to restore it five or six times, the last of which seemed to be successful, only to have it shut down completely (blinking apple ( Read more... )

*grins* What? I hate to disappoint! :)

And yeah, the whole John and Delenn ship thing . . . hee! They're sort of my one and true OTP, but I will refrain from comment except to sort of squee quietly at your (impending?) conversion. The John/Delenn archive is at Jumpy, if you're looking for fic. You can search by episode tag using the MCP as so not to "accidentally" read all that stuff you're not supposed to. *more grinning*

I'm sorry you're still not feeling well. *many hugs and getting better vibes*

*grins back*

Mostly it makes me grin to think of you getting a kick out of all this. I know how I feel watching people fall for one of my shows--great fun it is.

Thank you for the hugs and getting better vibes! I'm not feeling sick, exactly, but neither am I feeling quite well, and it's frustrating. *hugs back*

You know, whenever I post something about SG-1, one of my first thoughts is, "What the heck will Isa think of this?" and it makes me smile.

One of these days, I think we're just going to have to give into the fact that we share a brain. :)

It's fairly uncontestable at this point, isn't it. :D I say we give in. I'm proud to share a brain with you, my dear!

1. :( That's no good!

2. Where are you finding this Susan/Talia stuff?!?!?!? Because I've only found, oh, three fics, only two of which I was allowed to read yet. As for John/Delenn, I suspect I will end up falling for them, possibly hard. But it's been a little slow coming; when they first started nudging in that direction, my reaction was sort of, "oh, I know this is going to happen, but I'm not buying it." I'm starting to buy it more now, though, and I suspect season 3 will do me in, if gabolange's vague hints are any indication. ;) And speaking of gabolange and John/Delenn, she just pointed me to this archive, which is apparently the John/Delenn one--if you're looking for fic.

3. I was kind of counting on your Badgers to do so, frankly. It sounded like there was hope there for a little while. Oh well. And isn't the Big Ten crazy this year? It's like it happened overnight!

*hugs back*

Oooooh!!!! I didn't know about that archive!!!!! Thank you! :D

And yeah, I get that Wisconsin cares more about the Packers than the Badgers. I've never lived in a pro football place, but I've lived in baseball- and hockey-centric places where I start to talk about college sports and everyone just gives me blank stares. It's especially bad in Canada where there's really no conception of why anyone would care; Canadian university sports teams do exist, but no one cares at all. Sometimes I can wrangle some interest for March Madness, but never at all in football.

I can't say I won't be sorry to have one that actually works, but I have grown fond of Veronica, faults and all.

If Best Buy gives you crap, you can contact Apple itself. I've always had rather good luck with them. Mine most recent one (and yes - I am on my second full size one) went gablooie and I took it to an Apple store and they just handed me a new one. A friend of mine had to send hers in for a new one and they had it back to her in less than three days.

I specifically went to Best Buy instead of the Apple store because of the warranty (BB's is two years, and they claim not to give any grief about anything), but it's good to know that Apple is helpful about such things, as well. Presumably when they've got a device selling as well as the iPods, it pays them to replace the inevitable duds.

Hee! I have nothing against Ohio St., really, and one of my dearest friends is one of the biggest Ohio St. fans there is--if I value my life I can't badmouth it in front of her. ;) And there's even a job posted at Ohio St. right now that I want so badly I can taste it, but I can't apply for it because I haven't finished my degree. If I could have that job, I might even convert to the Big Ten. Emphasis on mightReally, it's just that Ohio St. is getting the brunt of my frustration with the current football season specifically and with the way that college football is ranked (and with the BCS system) in general. On paper, yes, they're unbeaten in a major conference. Except that doesn't account for the fact that the Big Ten pretty much sucks this year, and that the SEC and the Pac-10 are exceptionally good this year. When an entire conference except for one team is mediocre, it's not all that nifty that that one team beat everyone else. When an entire conference except for one team is playing really well (witness this year's SEC), there's ( ... )
