Oh, c'mon, you know you've always wanted to blow up the world!

Aren't there at least two prompts that offer Daniel/Janet?

I angsted so much choosing my prompt....I'm not gonna be any good advising other folk. Good luck though!

Hee! I did blow up Atlantis once, and co-authored the destruction of Earth. But it's been a while, so it's high time for another apocalypse. I'm leaning towards signing up--though I need to make up my mind for sure soon.

And there's one prompt that offers a choice between Daniel/Janet and Sam/Janet--that's the one I'm intrigued by. There's another that wants AU versions of Daniel/Janet, Daniel/Vala, and Daniel/Sam--all of them, I think--but that's not pinging for me. There are a couple of others that could probably be turned into Daniel/Janet if I were so inclined.

But I really kind of want to write about Teal'c. Oh the choices!!!

Oh, hasn't everyone blown up Atlantis at least once? :) Including canon...maybe...

*sigh* I know on the surface I'm mostly a gen person with a guilty penchant for Sam/Daniel but of the non-Sam/Daniel ships Daniel/Janet is SO my guilty pleasure (I want Sam/Janet/Daniel like WHOA). It helps that you've written several awesome ones to suck me in :)

But Teal'c does not get enough love either so...whatever sparks your brain?

Oh yes, how hot would Sam/Janet/Daniel be? Also another that you don't see any of is Daniel/Janet/Jack. Again, yum...

Choose anything, just DO IT! :P

Oh, it would be nice if someone did Daniel/Janet! The little shipping camp that could.

The little shipping camp that could.

Yay!!! ;)

The problem is I sort of want to write about Teal'c, yet I feel sort of duty-bound to do Daniel/Janet. We'll see.

Thanks for organizing it all, incidentally! It's going to be fabulous!

Well, I'm certainly not going to argue against Teal'c/Cam. :P

I hope everyone actually finishes their stories and we have plenty of fic. It shall be awesome.

Hey, if you find yourself in York, Leeds or London and want to meet up for a beer in a kindasortaknowyoufromLJkinda way, drop me a line @livejournal.com. Cofax7 will vouch that I am Occasionally Amusing, or at the very least Mostly Harmless :)

Oh yes, certainly! What fun!

I will be briefly in York, but that's during the being a tourist with my mom and aunt stage of the trip, so probably not the best time for meeting up with LJ folks. In the last two weeks of July, though, I'll be in London (largely camped out in the BL and the London Metropolitan Archives, I think). So if you're in or around London at all during that time, perhaps that would be better. I'll drop you an email, or feel free to do the same to me (also at LJ.com).

And I love your icon!

Perfect! I too have BL research to do, and I'm due to come down on the 28th for a week. Will you still be around?

It will be cutting it very close, but we would cross paths in London. Right now I'm scheduled to stay in the UK through August 5th, but I've discovered that the trip to Sussex I was planning for that first week of August really isn't worth the time or money in terms of the payoff for my research. So I'm now planning to change my ticket to come home after I no longer have a place to stay in London--July 29. But I will still be there the 28th for sure, for what that's worth.

I guess the consolation is that hopefully whatever we choose we'll be more or less happy with. I hope!

You could choose one for apocalypse kree and do the other/others on your journal. I doubt anyone would complain :p

Aww bless, I like how surrealphantast referred to the DanJan-ers - the little shipping camp that could! hee! I agree it would be good to see, since it's the only real Dan/Jan prompt on the list, and often they don't even get a prompt to start with.
And you would do it sooo well, too! *begs*

Ooh England huh? Whereabouts? I'm going to India in July, but I hope you get better weather than we've had in June!

I feel rather duty-bound to write the Dan/Jan, but frankly, I sort of want to write Teal'c for this. I'm still pondering. The Dan/Jan one seems like it would be awfully plotty, and we all know how I feel about plot...

And yes, I loved surrealphantast's comment! She's among the multishippers who is more than happy to enjoy a good Dan/Jan fic now and then, even if she's not really a D/J person primarily. These are the people that I've had in mind in my recent appeals to the list--if we want to give Dan/Jan more prominence in the fandom at large (and I don't always know that we do, frankly, but mostly I think we might try), there is an audience, even if it's not really the Daniel/Janet OTP forever omg!!!eleventy!! kind of audience. But now we're coming back to the stupid duty-bound to write Dan/Jan thing. Not that I don't like writing them, mind you. Whatever ( ... )

Go write Teal'c then, and put the Dan/Jan on hold for when you feel like writing a plotty one, and either post it to Apocalypse Kree if that's ok [I gather that later on it'll be ok to post fics that no-one else has claimed, but if not then just D/J fans ( ... )

I'm quite proud of our Daniel/Janet reputation, so far as it goes. True, we don't register at all on much of fandom's radar, but those who know us know pretty much only good things. And I think that reputation is the main reason that those of us who chimed in on the recent list discussion--those of us who have been around for a good long while--did so in the way we did. Frankly, I highly doubt that those who started the discussion were really going to turn legions of Daniel/Vala shippers against us or anything crazy like that, but I just feel protective (and possessive, perhaps, for good or ill) of the group itself, and I thing that it's never a bad thing to pass along a bit of fannish history here and there to those who are a little newer to the fold. *snuggles our beleaguered little pairing*
