Aww, poor Janet. I really wish we could have seen what she went through after Jack took Daniel back to the planet, but I guess that's what fic is for. Nice job, Isa! :)
aww.. I always love that episode. Janet had to break down once and awhile, especially with Daniel dying at least one a year almost. Good one-shot (I really need to get better at this comment/reviewing thing).
It's the one where they all get addicted to the light and Daniel almost jumps off his balcony and then sort of dies (but only very briefly), and then they have to stay on the planet for three weeks weaning themselves off of the addictive light.
And thanks! It's just a little lark of a ficlet, but I'm glad you liked.
So appropriate given the circumstances of the episode. Rather liked the bit about people making jokes about Daniel's recovery. I can see that happening, as sort of one means some people would take in dealing with some of the angst that's going on in this ep, while it also being sort of the last straw in terms of how Janet views these events.
But I think my favorite moment was when she turned in her kitchen and saw Daniel was still sitting there on the floor, looking bewildered. That's so Daniel! I like that he's giving her some space, while also doing what he can to be there for her.
This was great too: He's wearing his concerned face again, the overly earnest one that would drive her nuts if she didn't believe his sincerity. Man, I can so see that expression!
Thanks for this indulging ficlet to begin my Monday. ; )
Thanks, hon! I'm glad you liked this wee, random ficlet.
I've sort of been obsessing over Daniel's "concerned face" lately--because for some reason, it's been driving me insane these past couple of seasons. Especially when he looks at Vala with his "concerned face" it almost makes my skin crawl because for some reason I read it as incredibly false and condescending. But it's basically the same expression that MS has been using all along when Daniel's concerned or worried--and it never bothered me so much early on. And I think it's because I used to believe his sincerity in a way that I no longer do; Daniel's character has changed enough that earnestness doesn't work so well for him anymore. Yet MS is still making some of the same choices there. So, er, anyway... ;)
