I enjoyed this quite a bit. Those three definitely need to talk to each other about having been hosts.

Lovely piece, spare and simple and yes, the voices are all spot-on. Sam in particular, who I'd imagine is rather hard to write as there's so little info given about the inner workings of her mind.

I've seen all of SG, but never read the fic...I may have to change that now. As an old FS fan, I'm really looking forward to what this season will spawn.

Off to see what else you've written now. New writer to discover, yay!

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback, and I'm glad Sam worked for you. I was surprised as I started writing this (in effect the first time I've written Sam) how much more difficult she was than I had anticipated--because for as familiar as Sam is, I don't feel like I know her all that well. A fun challenge, at any rate.

And you are the Fialka of such Farscape gems as "Worlds Enough, and Time," "Rain," "Reflections in a Stolen 'I'", etc., yes? One of many Farscape writers with whom I've been too negligent about feedback as I've been trying to catch up on years of FS fandom. Because I'm an old SG fan who has recently fallen head over heels for FS. (Love your icon, incidentally!)

Off to see what else you've written now

I'm really trying to resist a disclaimer about much of the rest of my fic because, hey, it's publicly posted so I shouldn't disclaim. Still, it's a mixed bag. *stops disclaiming* Interestingly, though, I'm finding as I begin to dabble a bit in writing for FS, I'm taking all my writing more seriously.

Erg, um, yeah, thassme. I'll consider myself feedbacked, and take myself off to blush *G*.

And no disclaimers allowed (or necessary, really). If you want a good giggle, go to my site and click on some of the oldest XF fic. Oi. ::eyeroll:: That's why I date everything. I Got Better. (Much to the relief of my betas).

I read Gratitude before I had to fall over and you made me sniffle. Again, it has that same sense of restraint, of deep emotion broiling just below the surface, but the prose doesn't indulge it -- I love that kind of writing. I'm thrilled you'll be writing more FS. (Hee - I guess your fandom was inundated with FS folks last year, now it's our turn to be invaded by SG. And ooh, the fic possibilities!)

BTW, is all your stuff here, under the fic tag, or do you have a website somewhere?

Hmm, I made a new year's resolution to get a website and organize my fic... Hasn't happened yet, of course! Probably most things are under the fic tag, but I'm sloppy with tagging; the memories are a better bet, and I have recently been prompted to sort those by fandom.

And thanks for the "Gratitude" feedback!

Oh, I liked that a lot. Smart and good dialogue, and yeah, Sam counts too. Great Vala, too--all snappy innuendo over some major damage that she won't let anyone see. But I also love the way you look at these three survivors, and show how having been a host doesn't make you a Victim.

This and Rydra's Sha're story are both marvelous examinations of the host/symbiote relationship.

Just great!

Thank you!

And I feel like Rydra has to get some of the credit for giving me such a great, suggestive prompt. ;)

OOOOooooooohhhhhhhhh!

OMG I LOVE THIS FICATHON.

All these people, all these people who should meet, who have so much in common... just to have them in the same room is novel and wonderful and fascinating.

I love that they all run, but that Sam seems to have run farthest.

Wow. Awesome.

Thank you! And isn't this ficathon the best?!?!? I just wish I were more familiar with some of the other fandoms (Firefly, especially, since I know Cofax and Thea's stories are fantastic, simply because they wrote them).

I love that they all run, but that Sam seems to have run farthest

Ooh, I hadn't thought of it in quite those terms, but yeah. I think Rydra also nails Sam's dilemma in her fic: she can't let herself hate Jolinar or the Tok'ra, despite what Jolinar did to her. And it's that lack of resolution that she has to live with--or ignore, as the case may be. This was my first real go at writing Sam, and I think I've fallen a bit in love with her!

This is fabulous, Isabelle. I admit to not knowing much SG-1 canon prior to season nine, but it doesn't matter because what little understanding I did have has been magnified by your story, by how well you've executed their coming together over such painful periods in all their lives. And I love your Sam voice! *g*

Thank you, m'dear! And now I'm eager to write more Sam--I never had before, and I fell a bit in love with her through this.
